Hello everyone, it's week 25 of the VIbes Web3 Music Competition. For this week's theme song 80s, I will be presenting the song "Don't you forget about me" by Simple Mind.
It's my favourite old-school pop song, I fell even more in love with it when Becca sang it specifically for Jesse in the movie "Pitch Perfect". It's such a relatable song about the fear of being forgotten and losing relationships or friends. When distance comes into play or when circumstances change will I still be remembered? Will I still hold a special place in their heart? Will they call my name when they see me or will they just walk on by as if they never knew me? I plead and hope it won't come to that stage. I hope you enjoy the cover song.
Lyrics
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Ooh, woah
Won't you come see about me?
I'll be alone, dancing you know it, baby
Tell me your troubles and doubts
Giving me everything inside and out and
Love's strange so real in the dark
Think of the tender things that we were working on
Slow change may pull us apart
When the light gets into your heart, baby
Don't you forget about me
Don't don't don't don't
Don't you forget about me
Will you stand above me
Look my way, never love me
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Down, down, down
Will you recognise me
Call my name or walk on by
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Down, down, down, down
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Ooh, woah
Don't you try to pretend
It's my feeling we'll win in the end
I won't harm you or touch your defenses
Vanity, insecurity ah
Don't you forget about me
I'll be alone, dancing you know it baby
Going to take you apart
I'll put us back together at heart, baby
Don't you forget about me
Don't don't don't don't
Don't you forget about me
As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
As you walk on by
Will you call my name?
When you walk away
Oh will you walk away?
Will you walk on by?
Come on, call my name
Will you call my name?
I say:
La la la...
Thank you for visiting my post
This iconic 80s hit is indeed a relatable and emotive song, and you brought a fresh energy to it. Your performance was engaging, and the song's danceable quality shone through.
Technically, you demonstrated great control and expression in your singing. However, there were a few moments where the pitch wavered slightly, taking you off-key. Being mindful of your pitch will help you maintain a more consistent tone throughout the song.
Overall, it was a pleasure listening to your cover, and I'm excited to hear your next entry! Keep up the good work!
