RE: "I Got Jesus!" Original Hip Hop Song Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 13

in Vibes7 months ago (edited)

I’ve always loved rap and I have some faves. First question: have you ever done anything that’s not gospel rap? I’m learning a lot from you and the most beautiful part is: it’s the gospel. I thank God for you that you know who you are and you always bless with your music.

Second question: how do you go so fast?! 😂. I’m not sure I could cover that! It gives the thrill of rap and I loveet. And the vocals, can I say you have it all? You’re excellent at your stuff and this is glorious ✨

Haha thank you very much, you bring me feel good vibes. To answer your question, I have done music that is not gospel rap, consider the Vibes Contest Theme Song I just recently made
But the majority of my music, like 99% is gospel related in someway shape or form, when I was much younger between the ages of 12 and 20, I was still finding my voice and sound and the direction I wanted to go in, but my thought process was definitely always reflective, reminiscent, deep thinking and aiming for the profound and spiritual of this life we live.
God has definitely guided me musically, and for that I am forever thankful, knowing just how dark the music industry can be, considering that lucifer himself was an angel created and made from musical instruments, I think in week 15 I am going to attempt a very difficult song that has 5 verses, it is more of an experimental style song, but the title will grab people's attention for sure.
How do I go so fast? Practice practice practice, some songs/beats I will listen to back to back on repeat hundreds if not thousands of times, so that I become One with the music and know it inside and out and know when to enter in, where to enter in and how to control the pace, tempo and delivery
And it definitely helps if the song is not brand new, those are more challenging
Sometimes I write in my head, rhythmic lyrics that are faster than I can currently rap at,
but the challenge always intrigues me, and I love when I make mistakes
because I force myself to try and master the quickness until I eventually, with lots of time and trial and error, achieve it finally and then be able to rap it at that level with ease later on.

I love that line too! Thanks for pointing it out. I credit the Holy Spirit for that one haha

Oh wow, you’ve been rapping since the age of 12? That’s interesting. I think that’s still an interesting perspective to music, I’m all for music with meaning.

This speaks lots of work and a great deal of consistency. It’s also great to know you keep challenging yourself.

I’ll watch out for your Week 15 entry, I’m anticipating the title 😂. Well done @verbal-d

Thank you very much @sekani, yeah my first couple of raps were complete trash, the concepts and ideas were good, but as far as execution, rhythm, delivery and performance, pure garbage haha
sometimes I listen to my old songs for a good laugh
We all start somewhere right? hahahaha

Yeah week 15 will be interesting for sure

😂 oh yes we do. Not starting would be the problem.

Cheers to that.
