I can consistently average around 10,000 views weekly across my official Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok accounts, which could easily translate to a minimum of 50 new Hive users every week. However, despite knowing the value of my creativity, it’s frustrating to see my posts earning around $10 each. This is why I mostly focus on freestyle content. After over six months of consistent effort, none of my posts have reached the $20 mark. Is this really a platform I should promote to forex, Web 3, and music enthusiasts who enjoy my content?
You might argue that my content lacks quality, but isn’t the goal of a platform like Hive to help beginners grow and build loyalty? I don’t mind earning $3–$15 on freestyle videos, but I lose interest when promotions become mandatory to gain visibility.
There are many celebrities who would be interested in giving back to their audience through platforms like Hive. With consistent outreach, I am confident I can email and entice some of them to join over time, given my persistence and resilience. It only takes one major brand to join Hive, and others will follow, especially competitive African brands like MTN and Glo. Convincing a brand’s PR team to see the value of upvoting content that showcases their products or services could drive both consumers and creators toward that brand, bringing decentralization of digital content even closer. While this might take time, I am certain it’s achievable with my consistency.
Audience retention is becoming increasingly challenging, requiring more effort to capture attention. This underscores the fact that more people prefer watching movies over reading novels, just as there are more consumers than creators. In my opinion, Hive is a platform primarily for creators and a small group of consumers who appreciate unique, rare, and unseen creativity. Most consumers, however, are content with the simplicity of Web 2 apps.
This is why Hive should focus on creators and brands that actively support and pay creators. I am willing to dedicate all of 2025 to driving this mission forward—onboarding creators and brands alike—but not for $5–$15 per post after putting in the effort of 50 about takes.
It's saddened to not see hive official social media page on social media platforms when searched for, till one use web link. Take for instance Dodge coin, which is a meme coin has a verified tweeter account. Solana, a fast scalable blockchain enabling decentralized apps, finance, and smart contracts. Has an Instagram account that can eaxsily be found. What more hive which has high potential of decentralising digital content. A minimum of 5k new users in a stretch of 2 months across all major social media platforms is attainable extremely efficiently with strategies i cannot say on this comment.
