Hoo boy, that's something I somehow had forgotten entirely to mention: As stupid as that could clearly be, it also was really funny to see happen because of my friends reactions yelling at each other when they caught someone moving suspiciously. And I know for sure that it is such an old tale with splitscreen that someone made an entire game based around having to screenwatch to kill since everybody is invisible.

But for a little story about a game that has a very silly caveat over "screenwatching" is the PS1 game Trap Gunner, which long story short, is like a more strategic Bomberman where you need to kill the other player through mines and trap damage. The thing is that you can always see where and what traps YOU placed in your screen...so peeking where the other player left their traps and viceversa is at the reach of an eye movement 😂

(And by the way, this is another game that is "designed" with splitscreen, as you still see the game this way in single player fights. The screenshot is from when I played it with a friend though, and its a tale to tell for another day 🤠)

The Mario Kart 8-player madness and the time we got two Xboxes together for 6-player Halo are definitely my favorite moments with splitscreen, but it is undeniable that many games have been enjoyed in parties with buddies thanks to this feature, which I'm still sad that is being dropped by a variety of modern games.

As crazy as it sounds to hear someone telling a story about playing COD in the military, it does read that you had a good time when playing/watching those moments of pure chaos unfold 😆

A game built around the idea of having to screen-watch to beat your opponents sounds like a lot of fun. I’ll have to check this game out. Thanks for posting a link!
