"Have you ever heard of the hit game Among Us?"
Ignoring the whole internet joke that Among Us itself has become since the day it blew up (due to the quarantine conveniently making a very simple online based party game a good choice), there is something interesting and funny about getting your friends on a place while trying to do your thing and having to guess (or as I would like to call it, select for execution) which one is the fool on the lobby killing other players sneakily...unless its you, in which case you had to use your sabotage tools, tactical murder locations, and a huge dose of acting skills to not do a blatantly obvious lie or being suspicious from your behaviour.
And now this one will probably not be a surprise, but Among Us isn't the first game that had this idea. While the "imposter in a group" idea was inspired from Mafia and The Thing (the latter being a understandable inspiration for the whole thing of a monster disguised as a crewmate in a space station), there's a game many felt that had seen with this idea before Among Us became a widespread thing: Trouble in Terrorist Town.
But before continuing, you saw the thumbnail right? I want you to guess if the Daft Punk guy is an innocent or a traitor by the end of this post where I shall unveil the answer. Do you think that he could be an imposter or just a harmless citizen pointing a gun at a fellow teammate?
Hmmm...what's this?
Now, TTT is not actually a standalone game, but a gamemode created for Garry's Mod, most known for being a sandbox of custom content to play with, as well as a way to create animated videos with enough creativity. And to save on words, the premise is almost the same to Among Us, with the Traitors having to kill all the Innocents...without being caught themselves, but what makes it different is how this is executed.
Since Garry's Mod (and by extension, TTT) is a first-person shooter, you end up running around with a crowbar and any guns you find along the way. Anyone is allowed to shoot their guns but blindly killing anyone you see is likely going to get you killed or kicked, so as an Innocent or Detective (which can check dead players bodies to see who they last saw before dying and has extra skills), deduction and discussion is very much encouraged before pulling the trigger on anyone. Unless they are clearly trying to kill other people out of nowhere.
Being in the Traitor shoes can be funny but tough to handle: Since everyone has guns, trying to do a shootout with everyone watching you is going to be a lost cause (unless you count on using a suicide bomb and leave the rest to the other traitors), but just being suspected on by anyone could spell disaster if they agree to consider you the traitor and fire in unison, so blending in is paramount...along with having a steady aim.
If you are the Traitor, you'll have to use well your weapons to take down any unsuspecting and lone player quickly before they shoot back at you (or scream for help), which is the reason I have failed to seal the deal at least in 3 games where I was the Traitor.
And...that's the basic rundown of the game. You don't even do tasks as an innocent player, just run around and not die until the traitors are killed. Since the premise is simple, what makes it funny is the variety of maps and characters you can find in TTT servers, which leads me to...

When I first joined, I was left as a spectator while I saw Kermit run around while floating with a prop and a...magnetic stick or something. It was a funny sight and he still kept going even though I was trying to mess with his prop with the prop moving thing you could do as a spectator.
And then he fell off.

When I joined, I wondered how to change my skin as I saw people as an anime girl, as Half-Life 2/CSS characters, a zombie with a headcrab...and well, Kermit running around with a gun too. So I was checking the keys and saw that there was a shop for skins where I could pick to be a Rat...but it costed points and I had just joined the server.
They saw me suspicious because I wasn't doing anything, and I did tell them I was checking the shop, but now I realize that they were guessing since I was the last traitor alive...and no one was dying. Someone came up and gifted me some points so that I could swap into the Rat.

Long story short, I was the Traitor three times in this map...and the first two times I got shot down before I could escape from my first attack. And the third time I actually had survived a scuffle caused by one of the fellow traitors blowing themselves up. With 15% health.
Ran up to the last player alive to shoot them down and instead got smacked with a crowbar, which killed me because of my low health 🤠
And if you thought living as an Innocent was an easier task...

This is coconut doggy. And I sure knew that well because almost everybody repeated coconut doggy's name whenever he was around.

Looks like coconut doggy found a dead body in the lava river. That is odd...and so they thought the others that arrived to the scene.
As coconut doggy, Kermit and the anime girl pondered about what could have happened to him while taking the body out of the lava- OH WAIT WHAT IS GOING ON WHAT THE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
The anime girl was the traitor. And the player was absolutely laughing their ass from getting away with the crime 😂
Conclusion
So...yeah. It can be pretty funny, specially with voice chat people and/or your own friends messing around if you can get them to jump in.
You might be able to tell a traitor by their gun skin, because I was once told "HEY SHOW ME YOUR WEAPON" and got shot on sight because my Deagle looked in a certain way (did not know I could get fooled like that), but sometimes, maybe, I don't know, the gun skin doesn't happen to be suspicious or different.
Even if people are carrying guns, you could not always say they are a traitor, since even you have a gun and could have it pointed at someone like the guy at the thumbnail.
If you guessed that he wouldn't shoot the guy, you are absolutely correct! Congratulations, you have won the big prize- wait a minute hold up what did you say???

There's sure a few companies that would wish they could have control over those or see them erased from the face of earth (Activision-Blizzard having the rights to any new modded games made in Warcraft 3 Reforged in their TOS, Take-Two Interactive trying to take down big GTA mods, Nintendo bullying Youtubers playing BOTW with mods), but there's always a way for people to get their cake and eat it 😎
I find it really cool when people manage to crack open an otherwise completely closed off game to do their thing (decompilations like SM64 and OOT that eventually add modding features, UMVC3 getting a "clone engines" to add more characters than ever intended, every Smash Bros project that also manage to add more fighters, Sonic games and ports having bugfixes and improvements made by fans, and so on), which is a topic I would like to get more in-depth with someday, but there's also something magical about games that give you mod tools and people manage to run far beyond what they are supposed to do, like making a Toyota AE86 mod for TBOI (which is the only way I have beat that game lmao), the Doom community going crazy with both mods that push the original engine (like a mod based off Doom 2016) and mods that take advantage of modernized engines (like another mod based off Doom 2016, only even more accurate...and that's not even talking about GZDoom-powered games), and not just Garry's Mod as a whole starting as a sandbox experiment using the Source engine frmo Half-Life 2, but also whatever you can now find inside GMod itself.
The variety of stand-out weapons from different games and maps for different modes that exist are something taken for granted in this style of game but really it is quite cool from the players at the community that make these in first place. What other game you could say you could spawn a Lamborghini as Luigi and swing with Spiderman's webs while running away from Senator Armstrong in the backrooms?
...uhhh, yeah, maybe that one's a story for another day. But TTT is definitely and old community game mode that does thrive off the variety of content made for the game, which is great.

Manooo, el garry es infinitamente divertido, pasa lo mismo que minecraft con mods, hay muchos mods que cambian el modo de juego, siendo eso lo bueno de que sea un juego sandbox.
Creo que estaban haciendo un grupo en Discord para jugar garry, yo no he podido participar porque el garry me da muchos problemas, pero espero que se haga un grupo grande, así se podrá jugar muchas cosas.
Ahora que tengo un internet que podría aguantarlo (larga historia), podría ser interesante ver si puedo meterme en servidores de Minecraft...
Sería genial si se organiza algo con Garry's Mod con lo mucho que se puede bajar para este.
