Now let's get to my gameplay!

I added Dredge on my game list a couple of weeks ago, I saw it for the first time on twitch at a pretty big streamer can't remember exactly who (I think Sodapoppin). I liked the visuals, the music and how the game looked overall so I knew I need to try it at one point. So today because outside we have another heatwave and there's nothing else to do besides hiding inside under the AC.

On a short story, you and your boat hit some rocks because of the thick fog outside, even though there is a light tower, you missed it and you end up on an Island where the mayor helps you with an old rusty boat and you start fishing to pay your debt (for the rusty boat), you end meeting new NPCs with different quests, you can upgrade your boat and buy new items/accessories to help you fishing.

The boat has a limited inventory space, this making the fishing harder then it looks, there are many types of fishes with different sizes and shapes this making you manage your inventory to best fit as many as possible.

As for the fishing mechanic, is pretty interesting, you can see it in the GIF below on the left side, you basically have an animation where you need to hit F right when it passes the green zone, you can avoid hitting it at all and press nothing but it takes more time to catch the fish.

The difficulty of catching the fish increases with the type of it.

During my first part gameplay I did my best to get some upgrades on the ship (an extra motor for extra speed, and a brighter light for night fishing). I also managed to pay my debt to the Mayor and stock some cash that I will probably need for upgrades as I find scrap.

Forgot to add the gameplay link, you can watch the first part on my Youtube channel down below:

I mentioned the thick fog before and the upgraded light, so for you to understand how thick the fog is and why a light upgraded is needed I will show you the gif below. Watch me hit a rock that appeared out of nowhere because my default light was pretty much useless.

The upgraded light doesn't bright that far either, but still helped me not hitting anything again so far, here's the new light to compare it with the old one.

Besides the light that helps you not hit things, if you can't find your way back during the night, you have a horn that you can "spam" and the light house will horn too so you can find the direction by sound.

The first episode is ~50minutes long, I feel like I didn't discover more than 10% of the game yet, in my next part I will try to learn more about the nearby island and what I can do there, also I hopefully will get a couple of upgrades as well, I really need a bigger inventory.

Until next time, thank you for stopping by, if you want more content like this feel free follow to be kept up to date!

Have a great day! (or weekend! If you are reading this after being posted)

This looks like you actually fishing on a landscape I love the view and how you navigate through, especi with the idea of the lights

Damn, this looks really cool. I took a glance at this when it was added to the PS+ game catalogue but didn't think much of it back then. Looks quite cozy from what you're showcasing here.

Thank you. You should really give it a try, super relaxing. Hopefully it's not a short game.
