Deadlock is a still in early development game from Valve. A 6 vs 6 MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) with PVP on lanes.

The game doesn't have a trailer yet, and the Steam page is almost empty. Also the only way to get access to the game is by getting invited by someone from you Steam's friends list, so if you need an invite leave your Steam profile down below and I will add you and send you an invite.

Because when I joined the game the servers were down, the devs were preparing to update the game, I could only play against bots.

Here is my full gameplay against bots, on my Youtube channel:

I picked Infernus for my first matched, I liked how his weapon is his fingers shooting fire bullets.

Watch these fingers burning the enemy, full automatic fingers!

Now I know this is against BOTs but still was fun enough to test the game movements, skills, minions, check the graphics and many more.

Let's go through some things that I like and some that I don't, or at least I don't fully like them.

Things that I like

Graphics, I like that the graphics are a little bit darker than the usual games that pick this cartoonish style, this washed style makes me feel like I can react faster to enemies.

The movement:

  • jump height is decent but the fact that you can double jump is amazing (it's restricted by stamina so you can't abuse it)
  • while jumping to ledges you can hold Jump button to hold and get up on that ledge
  • dash great movement, in a combination with jumping it saved me many times
  • you even have a slide, haven't used it that much yet but while you do it you have infinite ammo

    The characters:

  • the game is in early development and still started with so many characters to pick from makes it not feel so repetitive

    The map:
  • about the map I like that we have 4 lanes and not the typical 3 ones that most of the MOBAs go with
  • the lines you can hop on to move on your lane, this is gold, that boring walk to your tower, I always hated this on other games
  • the boost skill that can speed you on the lines mentioned above, you can use this if you respawn and want to get super fast to your tower (if it is low hp and want to avoid it being destroyed)

Other things that I like:

  • you can melee, and also charge the melee hit
  • the shop near your tower
  • the fact that you can browse different builds made by other players, people can favorite them and by this that build gets higher in ranking

Things that I do not like

About Characters:

  • a thing I don't like related to characters is that some of them become super tanky, even if you have great items you might end fighting them 3-5minutes and it won't die, they either have great healing or life steal

Other things I do not like:

  • to win or lose a game requires a few towers to be destroyed near the spawn, it even has a mechanic where the main heart won't be touchable until you destroy a couple things around, complicated and makes the match so much longer sometimes

Down below I will show a few GIFs from the game:

This is how a tower looks like and attacks

Once you get past the first tower, the one mentioned above, you get to fight this badass "tower"

You know how League of legends has a jungle player that farms camp mobs around the map instead of sitting on lanes, well this is how a camp looks in Deadlock

This is how the enemy heart looks like, and the madness that surrounds it

Overall I really enjoyed the game, I will play some matches against real players and practice some characters, I might come with a match against real players at one point, I need to make sure I fully understand the game so my winning chances increase.

Thank you for stopping by, drop a follow if you want more content like this, also your steam profile down below if you want an invite.

May your lag be low and your loot be legendary. Until next time!

I had not heard anything about this game, it looks interesting, it has an aesthetic like cardboard and I like it but at the same time it has some dark aspects, it is curious, it made me strange a MOBA field with 4 lanes but I guess it would be a matter of adaptation.

what you say that some characters become almost invincible or that they can delay the games so much I imagine that they are part of the things that must be balanced in each initial phase of a video game, little by little I hope this more polished and balanced everything :D

Yes, the game gets a couple of updates every week, new things being added, balancing stuff. Can't wait for the game to come out of Alpha, usually games get huge updates when getting out of Alpha, with new content most of the times.

A few weeks ago I was watching it and although I'm not a fan of moba games, I found it entertaining to play a few games, although visually I feel it lacks, the scenarios look a little weird, as if they lacked color or textures.

I like the "lack" of color, I feel like my eyes are relaxing compared to other games, and the heroes having more living colors, makes them easier to spot while moving around with a washed background behind.
