Hello Fellow Hivers!
Most of you know me for being lazy and creating weekly Splinterlands post on weekends. However, this time I am actually sitting in front of my laptop on a weekday after work to write a post on a new game I am quite hooked on of late and have high expectations from it.
Today, I am here to talk about the game Terracore built by our very own @crypt0gnome.
About The Game:
TerraCore is a Strategy Idle Game on our very on Hive Blockchain that revolved around building your stats, mining the game token $SCRAP, defending your mined $Scrap and stealing $SCRAP from the fellow citizens.Does not sound interesting enough? Let me share some more details.
FAVOR : Favor is the attribute that increases the Critical Hit which increases the chance to steal $SCRAP from the opponent. Reaching certain milestones in Favor also unlock new Planets which expands the game play further.
As of now we have information about 2 such planets:
- Oceana (Available): Needs 1000 Favor contribution.
- Celestia (Coming Soon): Needs 2000 Favor contribution.
ENGINEERING : This is the stat that we would want to upgrade in order to increase the amount of $SCRAP we can earn per hour.
DAMAGE : As the name suggests, damage is the stat we would go for if we are cynical and hate everyone and want to attack them to steal from others. Apart from this part the game is not 18+ I promise!
DEFENSE : Though you already get the idea, we stack up our defense so that others can not attack and steal $SCRAP from us.
STASH SIZE : This is the final attribute that we can increase by staking $SCRAP. Higher the stash size is, the higher is our Dodge (which can help us to dodge attack every once in a blue moon) and Luck that gives us better odds in finding crates in boss fight but we all know how blessed we are with RNG so let's not go there!
What Makes Me Optimistic About The Game ?
The game is still in Alpha and has shown a lot of promise with continuous development and support from the community. Moreover, the game is ranked #2 in DappRaddar among games on Hive just behind Splinterlands which is not a matter of joke!

I Am Sold ! How Can I Play This Masterpiece ?
Well, the game costs $5 worth of Hive to register or "get a citizenship" so that you can explore around, have adventure of a lifetime and earn $SCRAP without moving in front of your PC. Think about the irony!

What's New ?
With the new update released yesterday we have been introduced to $FLUX and Oceana has been unlocked.
This is an extended utility to the NFTs released in the game a couple of weeks ago. Before the release of Oceana and boss fights in Oceana, the only way to get the NFTs was to buy and open common crates for 100 $SCRAP and be sad with an NFT with poor stats and become jealous of others when they pull an uncommon or even rare NFT. Now, the game offers us to get a chance of winning uncommon or better Crates by fighting the boss in Oceana every 4 hours courtesy of today's update.
The requirements to participate in the boss fight are :
- Minimum 1000 Favor to unlock Oceana which costs 1000 $SCRAP
- Have 1 Ship NFT equipped
- 1 $FLUX each time you want to travel to Oceana to fight the boss.
Now, what is this $FLUX and how to earn it?
$FLUX is the token considered to be the fuel of the Ship NFT used to travel to different planets in the game. The only way to earn $FLUX is to salvage the unused NFT or buy from others.

Golem Overlord is actually heavily inspired this game and to be honest some of the ideas the developer is working on made me very bullish on the game.
