Trying Out HEARTWOOD ONLINE

in Hive Gaming4 months ago (edited)

Every time I see a pixel game I always want to try it. But not all of them are very easy to play. But today I found out that there is a pixel game installed on my laptop that I haven't been able to try until now. I am looking for games to play that I could blog and I found Heartwood Online installed on my computer. I think I installed it and then forgot it was on my laptop.

The game

Heartwood Online is a pixel game from a cross-platform free-to-play MMO developed by E Bros and it was first released in August 2023 (just last year). I think it has been months since I installed this game on my computer because I completely forgot about it.

Starting a game

At first, you will be asked to create a character and assign a name. The name of your character should only contain letters (any type of character aside from letters are prohibited).

After creating your character you are now ready to play.

Starting Quest/Objective

After logging in you will be greeted by your first quest/objective. You can complete this objective by killing stray rabbits on the map. Just be mindful that certain quest needs a certain level requirement. So, you need to check your quest if your level meets the requirement. If not, you will not get any of the items needed to complete your quest.

The Controls

The controls of this game are very old-school and are very easy to remember because they use the controls that are commonly used in many games.

Cutting trees, digging stones, uprooting herbs, and fishing

In this game, you don't need to get the necessary tools on your inventory to perform a task. If you want to cut a tree just go near it then click on it and your character will automatically cut it, and there is NO NEED TO CLICK REPEATEDLY, just click once and it will finish on its own. Same with digging a stone/mineral just go near it and click on it and your character will start digging it using a pickaxe. The same goes for picking herbs. It is also the same with fishing, you just go near a river and then fish provided that you got the necessary bait in your bag.

The Fur Trapper

The Fur Trapper is the one that is giving the quest/objective. Once completed, go back to him to get your reward.

Talents = Stats

In this game, you will find the stats of your character on the Talent window. In this window, you can adjust the stats of your character to your liking or playstyle (you can even reset them).

The map

In this game you can see the full map, you can zoom in and zoom out of the map. This game is in early access so the map that you are going to explore is still limited. Check out the full view of the map below, beautiful isn't it?

Impression

Overall this game is good, if you played Ragnarok before then you will surely love this. Leveling up your character seems to be close to that of Ragnarok.

My gameplay

And that's it for now, if you want you can watch my gameplay below...

That is all for now guys, catch you up with the next one. Wishing you all safety, good health, and abundance.

Sort:

Oh dang this looks real cool!

Tell me is it sort of freeroam or what? I've been looking for a game that's similar to this... I love the idea of being able to build a camp and gather resources!

I'll definitely be jumping on this one soon!

I haven't seen freedom yet. I think this one is more of an RPG than building a camp and gathering resources.
