Until Then is a narrative adventure with beautiful pixel art set in the modern Philippines. In the aftermath of a global catastrophe called "The Ruling" and the trauma and loss caused by it, the game story follows Mark Borja and his friends, exploring their daily life. Until Then explores many themes such as loss, memory and the passage of time.
Part 10 - Accepting Loss and Moving On...
This part of my Until Then Let's Play covers the rest of "Chapter 5." While it's the final chapter of the story. The game goes back to chapter 1 with a slightly different story afterwards. I didn't realize this game was a time loopl!
In this chapter Mark Borja and Nicole Lacsmana have a fight. Later at home, Mark goes back to read papers about his mom. She went missing in a flight. Yet, he pretended the whole time that she was still there.
The messages Mark sent to his Mom were heartbreaking to read!!
Cath comes to visit, and Mark finally admits what happened to his Mom. We see a backstory of what happened when he first heard of it.
Later, the classmates go to the Prom party. There Mark and Nicole make up. Cath goes missing. Mark goes after her. Everything collapses. And the world moves on...
Years later, we see a newlywed Mark and Nicole have just moved to their new home. Mark sees a recorded message from Cath. Memories flood back. She ended her message with "Until Then." A promise that was never fulfilled.
