I actually know very little too... But (at least I think) I know enough to see that this wasn't a good decision by Square Enix, maybe they'll profit from it now, but most fans won't like it and it's bad to risk fans' loyalty over something that might not work out in the future.

But you defend yourself very well. Here in my country there is a saying that says "you don't eat just once" which indicates that you have to leave possibilities for people to come back or want to come back. Otherwise they leave and don't come back anymore 😜
