Conquest mode in Golem Overlord.

From the five matches I played I was trash because it was first time playing. Has a good potential for future updates. I cant wait. I think probably because I had not expected something like this, unsure if there could be some sort of troop NFTs in the future.

A holographic version on this would be awesome to have, just a thought to myself. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Where there is progress it is best to wait right?

An assortment of Golem units with various abilities that I think are and will be randomized every time a chest is opened.

A Compendium.

Just an example of one of the Conquest Golems, that's what they are called officially. I have already seen there next available chest opening in 28 days from writing will give you new ones with various traits and levels. Maybe. And why not? Then use in your matches I am sure of it.

Of course when you are a premium Golem Overlord you will have more perks, I've neve tried because I have always interacted with this game in the casual idle gaming type of game. I check once a day. Make some moves then do something else. This adds that new feeling into a new game type within a game, similar to games like The Witcher where you get to play cards instead of goin about the virtual world. I'm digressing. Anyway before I forget, good job @golem.overlord! A nice addition.

Gameplay.

There are four gameplays you can choose. Between matches with bots, challenging other players and Ranked mode.

Both player and bot matches for me were hard probably because I do not understand the full dynamics of the game. I made the rookie mistake of going straight for the ranked mode and got plastered in all five matches. One after the other I kept losing which was a bummer but I think I was starting to get the hang of it.

Kind of.

The ranked has a timed aspect similar to the count down you get from playing Splinterlands which is good when you have an adept knowledge of the stats within your card selection. Since it was a free version I cannot say for certain if the choices differ between paid and free gameplays.

Maybe I will get me a subscription one time.

The bot matches since it was after my ranked matches allowed me to then start looking at the stats in the roster. The time in bot matches is half hour for your turn to submit your formations. There are three types of units Tanks, Damage and Support I noticed, yes that is why i sucked I didn't even bother to read the unit details while playing.

Another rookie mistake. We all start somewhere. More practice against the bots and reading should help new players who are decide to play the game. Also a good booklet or at least a spreadsheet opened so that way you can preselect your units. Wonder if there is a game book option so you can have a group of units already pre lined up for what ever reason you decide to do in the future.

Along with choosing six units you are asked to select Advisors which provide advantages specific to each individual card. These can be expanded with more choice by opening chests that you use to mint the NFT. No need to explain what these are, but then again you may just be a first timer and need info so follow this link.

The auto attack formation could use a little work in terms of movement command but then again that would ruin the randomness factor to what your Golems get up to also gives a different kind of praying and hoping your units don't attack the wrong target when they are in the middle of the match.

There's a Leaderboard.

Complete with a weekly leaderboard the competitiveness of the ranked modes are evident and you can see who is online based on a marker in Matchmaking view. Looking at my rank and how I have not won any matches in this limited event I say there are 174 people playing this game this week. It's in Alpha so hopefully in the Beta stage we will have more players coming on board to give more variety in the people you are going to play against. I matched with one guy twice in the five ranked matches I played.

Well that's it. I give it an 8/10 for gameplay and leaderboard. Graphics I give a 6/10. Again Alpha state so next iteration could signal an improvement in these three categories.
