Hello everyone and welcome to my first review!
I'm not sure how many swedish speaking users there are here but I figured I'd include the swedish text to the reviews as well and then work on my translation skills a little bit (probably with some help from google translate). First game is going to be about Snowrunner which is a new game that was released in April and I've had a lot of fun with. For those of you just interested in checking what this game is about, here is the trailer:
För er som brukar spela många olika dator spel så kommer namnet kanske ganska bekant eftersom Mudrunner existerade före och leran har nu bytts ut med snö. Fokusen i det här spelete är realism och jag måste erkänna att de har gjort ett bra jobb me detta i det nya spelet med teknologin påväg upp tillika. Spelet går ut på att köra främst lastbilar i tuffa terräng och försöka slippa från punkt A till B vilket är det vanliga fokusen med fordon över lag. :P Men om du inte har tillgång till en lastbil eller körkort så får du testa göra det i det här spelet istället mycket billigare, och råkar du ha satsat på bilspel från förut och har en ratt och gaspedal hemma så får du njuta av realismen ännu mera!
For you who've played many computer games in the past you may remember the name from its predecessor called Mudrunner, now basically the mud is exchanged with snow. The focus of this game is realism and I have to admit they've done a really great job with it in this new game, I imagine technology and game engine's evolving is helping that a lot. The game is about mainly driving trucks in difficult terrains and getting from point A to point B which I guess is the usual focus with vehicles in general. :P If you don't have access to a truck or a driver's license then you're able to test driving them in this game for a lot cheaper, and in case you've put in some money into buying a wheel and pedals from driving games in the past you'll be able to enjoy the realism this game has to offer even more!
Spelet börjar med en vanlig tutorial som lär nybörjare grunderna medan de som endera ha spelat bilspel förut eller de liknande spelen som företaget satt ut före får lära känna lite nya saker som kommit med i Snowrunner. Ifall du inte fått ditt körkort ännu så kan du lära dig något nytt i denna tutorial också! Efter den delen så börjar du redan med din första mission och den är lika simpel som konceptet med hela spelet som jag sa, punkt A till B utan att köra ut. Du kan lätt byta fordon sålänge du inte är i en mission där du måst slippa till punkt B med de fordonet du kör just då och när du sluppit till en ny destination så öppnas kartan upp som i de flesta spel. Via kartan kan du också byta fordon, något som många inte vet att du inte alltid behöver vara bredvid ett annat fordon för att kunna byta. (bild på kartan nedan) Detta är bra att veta ifall du vill lämna många fordon över hela kartan och göra olika missioner här och där eller (något som hände ett par gånger åt mig) ifall du fastnar någonstans med din lastbil kan du byta till en som är nära för att dra ut den du har en mission på gångs med. Att köra fast någonstans är såklart det som kommer att hända mest i det här spelet eftersom som jag påstod så är det satsat på realism så de kommer inte att hända något orealististiskt som UFOn eller krig som kommer att komma i vägen för dina missioner. Det viktigaste är att inte göra situationen värre när ditt fordon sitter fast och vara extra försiktig när du bytt fordon för att dra ut din första att du inte har båda, eller som jag lyckades en gång, ha 3 fordon fast i samma dike. Sen igen kan du tänka dig hur det kan kännas att försöka dra ut flera ton med ett fordon som också väger flera ton på blank is.
The game starts off with a normal tutorial that teaches beginners the basics of the game but at the same time also those who've played this series before get to learn about some new additions to the game there. In case you haven't gotten your driver's license yet you might learn something new here as well! After the tutorial you already start off on your first mission and that one is as easy as the concept of the game in general as I mentioned earlier, getting from point A to point B, without driving off the road which is easier said than done. You can easily change vehicles as long as you're not in a mission that requires you to get to your destination in the vehicle you're driving at the time and once you've gotten to your destination the place will open up on your map for future instant transportation. Through the map you can also switch vehicles and is something that many don't know until later that you don't have to only be close to another vehicle to switch between the two. (there's a screenshot of the map below) This is something good to know in case you want to leave vehicles in garages all over the map so you can switch between missions here and there. Getting stuck is of course the main thing that will happen in the game and is what the objective is to avoid, as I mentioned this game focuses on realism so there's not going to be an alien invasion or a war starting that will make your missions harder. Something to remember is to not make your situation worse when you get stuck so be extra careful when you switch to another vehicle to go and pull out the previous one so you don't end up with both, or something I managed to do once, all three vehicles laying in the same ditch. If you think that's impossible, though, you might want to imagine what it's like pulling out many tons of a truck with another truck weighing the same on smooth ice.
Spelets plats existerar i USA men man slipper också att köra lastbil i Ryssland så det finns en hel del variationer i både terrängen och språket på texten på olika fordon. Om det känns tråkigt så kan man alltid sätta lite musik på och leka att det här är ditt jobb eftersom t.o.m. covid-19 kan inte stoppa en lastbils chaufför. Grafiken är exceptionell i Snowrunner och du finner dig många gånger bara vilja ta en paus från körandet och kolla utsikten, speciellt om du råkar befinna dig någonstans högt uppe just då och solen håller på att gå ner eller upp. Mitt vitsord för detta spel är rätt högt eftersom jag brukar njuta av dessa simulations spel och hoppas att i framtiden dom lägger med ännu större kartor, kanske något som Microsoft Flight Simulator som planerar att ta med ord och grant hela världen i spelet. Där måste du dock spela online hela tiden eftersom vanliga människor har svårt att spara hela världen på sina SSD, mera om detta spel kanske i en annan recension när det kommer ut i beta!
The game happens in the U.S.A but you'll also get to test driving in Russia so there's a lot of variations both in terrain and the text on the vehicles you drive there. If the game some times gets a bit dull remember you can listen to music at the same time and pretend its your real job cause even covid-19 can't stop a truckdriver. The graphic is exceptional in Snowrunner and you find yourself many times wanting to just stop from driving and check out the view, especially if you happen to be somewhere up high and the sun is either setting or rising just then. I'm grading this game pretty high because I really enjoy these kind of simulation games and I hope in the future they'll be able to add even bigger maps, maybe something like what Microsoft Flight Simulator is planning where you can literally drive through the whole world in the game. There you have to be online all the time though cause normal folks won't have enough space in their SSD to literally save the whole world in, but more about that game in a future review maybe when the beta comes out!

Ah, yes, had a lot of fun Spintires - which is basically the same game without snow. The coop is a nice addon for sure. Gonna try that out :)
