I think they are not much expensive compared to what video games brought to us. some games are beyond imagination and 60 or 70$ has worth that art.
by the way, I really love to work as an graphical artist for a gaming company.

Well yes, there are games that are worth the price, games with an incredible gameplay are incredibly good and give you hours and hours of fun (even after finishing them).
