I played AoE series a ton growing up. I can't imagine playing this with a controller. Sounds so cumbersome and impractical. But if you play versus opponents that are also on controllers, that won't be an issue.

Yeah, the controller was one thing I was dreading when I heard of this coming to console. I've been playing more today, and I have to say, it's not too bad now that I've gotten the hang of it, it is still a bit fiddly though.
Also, yeah it won't be too bad considering everyone will be using them. I haven't played online, but I'm sure there is a console only setting.
