Welcome to Another Review
Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Sofia. The game is available for the Xbox One, PS4, and Microsoft windows. You play as shay a new recruit of the colonial brotherhood of assassins who is a mouthy so-and-so with no respect for authority. The game begins in the north Atlantic and sees you on the hunt for a precursor artifact.
The game is almost a carbon copy of Assassin's Creed Black Flag with the emphasis on exploring the open seas, stealth parkour, platforming, and sea battles. The combat features flintlock pistols and the air rifle which lets you silently attack enemies with Opoison berserk or sleep darts at the start. If you're more of a purist you can stick with the assassins dagger or swords. Objectives usually involve being stealthy and using your parkour abilities to scale buildings cliff faces and sea-faring vessels.
You have stealth vision that highlights your targets and the system is almost identical to Black Flag. Shay has control of the Morrigan a ship that can be upgraded and used in sea conflict. The game world features some cold weather regions which cause shay to freeze if exposed in the water for too long. There are lots of references to the native american culture with characters and totems to discover through the vast map.
One major problem with the game aside from the sense of Deja Vu from Black Flag is the lead protagonist Shay. Shay is without doubt one of the least likable characters in any Assassin's Creed game which is a massive problem because stories and adventures are all about caring what you're doing with whom. So, if the lead character is a complete douchebag and very unlikable then it's kind of shooting itself in the foot.
In summary, Rogue is a decent game but it's very similar to Black Flag and it just feels like a rehash or an undercooked experience. Graphically, the game looks okay but the engine is starting to show its age when compared to syndicate unity and the more recent installments. The audio is solid throughout but the sea shanties are less catchy than before and the voice acting seems to have taken a hit also. If you enjoyed black flag then this is more of the same. It's a vast adventure with some interesting missions and sailing on the open seas exploring the world is always good fun.
Final Thoughts
This game is a solid adventure game but one that lacks any originality or anything new when compared to the vastly superior Black Flag. The game feels like a lazy rehash and lacks any charm or magic that better games in the franchise have. The lead character is absolutely awful. The game feels like a recycled version of a previous installment the voice acting is a bit subpar and it feels like a game that really should have been left on the shelf with the devs being better off revamping the series rather than rehashing another installment. If you've never played Assassin's Creed at all then you'll probably enjoy this. Saying that compared to the other games in the franchise this one definitely is one of the most disappointing and one of the worst.

I totally agree with your opinion, I have not played this version of assasin's but I have read and researched about it and it seems to me a real fiasco, so much so that how you mention it is very similar to black flag, no doubt I think ubisoft could have made a better game maybe delaying it a few more years, I do not understand what is the rush to release it without first creating a jewel, however it is a good game to play, but I think it is a good game.
Yeah, it is not good as Black Flag.
