Howdy Gamers
I've been pretty busy in Valheim this past week.I finally managed to locate the Dwarf Trader Haldor. He sells rare crafting components needed to make epic weapons.
In this video we buy some Ymir's flesh from Haldor and use it to craft an Iron Sledge Hammer that does some pretty crazy aoe damage especially to the undead. With the hammer equipped I go to a stone tower near my fortress in the Black Forest and reclaim it from the undead that were occupying it.
I renovated and extended the Castle, building a throne room that over looks the sea and the forest. To end out the video I go and raid a Drugar village with my new Iron Sledge Hammer.
When you go looking for the trader I would highly advise taking the necessary materials with you to build a portal so you can easily return back to him.
His location is pretty far from my base ,the bag icon on the map is where he is located. As you can see from the map my base is close to the Elder spawn location...its a long journey...
A portal is a huge time saver ,you will need 2 surtling cores, 10 greydwarf eyes and 20 fine wood to craft one.
Lets jump through it and visit Haldor
I had with me 202 cold coins,13 rubies and 7 amber pearls.Haldor will buy your gemstones from you.I got 260 gold for the rubies and 70 gold for the amber pearl
This gave me enough coin to buy the 4 pieces of Ymir's flesh I need to craft an Iron Sledge Hammer...
Now lets head back to the forge...
We need 10 Ancient bark, 30 Iron Bars ,4 Ymir's Flesh and a Drugar Elite trophy to craft the Iron Sledge
I'm getting ready to fight the third boss, Bonemass and the Iron Sledge is the last weapon I wanted to craft before facing him.He spawns groups of Skeletons and with the Iron Sledge Hammer we can deal with them pretty easily as we will see in a moment.
I have upgraded my forge to level 5 which allowed me to upgrade my Iron armour an Iron mace to level 4.When you get the Iron mace to level 4 the Drugar in the sunken crypts can be taken out in a couple of hits.
Getting the mace to level 4 was the first thing on my Iron age to do list, since Bonemass is also weak against blunt damage this is going to be our main weapon when fighting him.Its a handy tool to have...
It made getting enough Iron to craft and upgrade Iron armour pretty easy...
With the full set of level 4 Iron armour we now have an armour score of 61 which makes the swamp biome much easier to survive than it was before...plus it makes us look like a badass Viking warrior who slays crypts full of Drugar before breakfast...
Ok so now we have our Iron Sledgehammer let's test it on some skeletons in a stone tower near my base.
I head over to the tower at night...
I have been busy extending my moat around the tower to help prevent attacks by trolls.Quarrying out this vast moat has provided a lot of stone to start extending the tower...
I decide to wait until sunrise before heading into the tower. Its dark and gloomy in there and it wont look great in the video so we wait until sunrise...
Another beautiful morning in Valheim, lets smash some skeletons!
With the full set of level 4 Iron armour the skeleton archer can only hit us for 1.6 damage...
It's hammer time...this skelton doesn't stand a chance...
The skeleton prepares to fire an arrow...on the floor above 2 other skeletons try to join the fight....
The Sledgehammer smashes all 3 of them to pieces with one swing sending fragments of bone and dust all through the tower....
There were 6 skeletons in this tower ...now there are 3 left on the top floor. The wood work in this tower is so badly damaged we are almost certainly going to smash some of it with the hammer...
Heading up to the top floor we get a couple nice shots of these god rays beaming through the window of the tower...
The gap in the stairs isn't wide enough to fit the hammer through...
The 3 remaining skeletons rush to greet me..
Hello boys...
They somehow survive the first hammer smash...
The second hammer smash breaks the floor I was standing on dropping me to the floor below as pieces of skeleton rain down the tower....
I watch as a skull and the the remaining skeleton fall passed me...that was epic!
The fall from the floor above has us back in the beam of the god rays...
The rays of the sun shine on our epic undead smashing sledgehammer almost as if it is being blessed by the heavens...
I have done so much damage to the woodwork we cant reach the top of the tower anymore....opps...
I guess its time for some repairs but lets smash one more skeleton first....
BOOM! This thing is powerful!...I better watch what I am doing before I knock this whole damn tower down...
Lets build a workbench and start fixing this place up...
With the work bench in placed we can repair the woodwork and rebuild the floors I smashed...
We need to place a stonecutter here so we can repair the stonework and add an extension to the castle...
While repairing the top floor I got these epic shots of the moon's rays flowing through the trees...
Now let's head outside and start building an extension to the back of the castle...
First we need a stone floor...
This stone floor cost around 100 pieces of stone to build...damn building castles is hard work....
I guess we should put up some walls next...
Next we should add a door...
Time to add a stone staircase...
And a hearth to make things nice and cozy...
Lets get a fire going...
Lets take a moment to enjoy the sunset, its been a hard day...
Here is how our little castle looks so far...
I added a second layer to the walls making them higher...
Then I started to add a wooden floor...
Next some stairs to get up to the second floor...
I added wooden walls and a thatched roof to the second floor as it was becoming to time consuming to use stone.I figure I use around 300 pieces of stone to build the lower level...
We need to leave a chimney at the back so the smoke from the hearth can escape...
I take a minute to admire the view from up here, this is going to be a throne room...
Time to add our Raven throne...
Gotta love the view from up here...
Time to take seat...
Sitting on the throne gives us a first person view...
While enjoying the view from our new throne room a raven swoops in through our chimney and flies of into the distance!......a truly magical moment!
Lets head out and see how the watch tower is looking...
I added some torches to add some light to the once gloomy structure...
From the top of the guard tower we can rain fire arrows down when trolls attack...
I let a fire arrow lose into the dark gloomy black forest...
Before ending my video I wanted to try my sledgehammer on some Draugr. There is a village just along the coast which is haunted by them...
There are 2 Draugr behind this door, lets see how much damage the hammer will do...
Looks like we killed both of them...
This building has a body pile in it....these are what spawn Draugr...
Fighting a bunch of Draugr with a sledgehammer in a destructible building is a lot of fun!
I was hitting this Druger elite with fire arrows getting some nice screenshots..
When all of a sudden he comes running out of the fire towards me like Jason Voorhees....
Its getting kinda dark in this spooky village...
I find a torch in a chest in the first house we smashed...
A greydwarf brute comes out of the woods and is attacked by a Drugar archer...its things like this that make me truly love this game...
I smash the archer with my iron mace while he is distracted...
Then we try the mace on the brute...
Hmmm its getting dark and this village is dangerous maybe I should head back home...
Lets check one more building...
There is another Draugr spawner in there...I think ill leave this place for now..
Time to run back to the safety of the Fortress...
Nearly there...
Home sweet home...
As the sunrises over the ocean we get some beautiful screenshots from the throne room...
As the sunrises over the ocean Conan sits on his Raven Throne and contemplates a new day in Valheim...
