User Generated Quests in Nifty Island
Fresh off the release of their official, live, play and earn system, Nifty Island now adds another feature – user generated quests. Now anyone can build their island and create their own quests to draw in and entertain players.
Creating a quest in Nifty Island is simple. No cost or purchase involved. You do need to have created your island (free) and built a game within your land (also free). Just go to the quest page to get started. Select your Island, select the quest type, configure rewards, and upload any rewards you are offering to the winners. Quest creators can even limit access to the quest based on owning certain types of NFTs.
And even if you aren’t interested in building your own island with fun games and cool hangout spots, you can still play and earn by participating in quests from other people. Not only will you have a chance to win whatever prize the quest itself is offering, but you can also earn Blooms, which convert into ISLAND tokens, effectively making this a double-dip opportunity!
Unfortunately, not everyone can participate in quests. You can only compete if you have at least 100 ISLAND tokens staked. This was done to try and limit botting, but hopefully in the future they will let the creators decide all of the the requirements for participation.
Win 5 MATIC in Race Across the Rooftops
As part of my research for this article, I edited my island, built a simple racing mini-game, and started a 24 hour quest! Known as Race Across the Rooftops, this quest will remain open until 11:30am CST on January 1st. Visit my island and try to run the race as quickly as you can. When the quest expires, the player with the fastest time will automatically receive the 5 MATIC.
It’s not a huge prize, but the system is still new and I really just wanted to see how it works. I built my island and the quest in about two hours, though you could easily create something much quicker.

What is Nifty Island?
Nifty Island is a free to play, social game where players own and develop their own Islands. But unlike other virtual world ecosystems, you don't need to hold any NFTs to build in Nifty Island. Everyone gets free access to their own, personal Island plot!
Players can customize their Island as they like, creating social spaces, games, and other activities with the built-in tools. They can also display images of many NFTs that they hold in their connected wallet.
Games within an Island run in their own instance, but they use the Island terrain as the map. So creating an interesting social space and a fun game space are key to attracting visitors. Players earn Blooms by playing and completing quests, as well as from other players visiting their Island. Blooms are an off-chain currency that can be used to mint Nifty Island NFTs.
Nifty Island supports supports NFT collections from numerous other projects, allowing players with PFPs from partner collections use specially themed avatars in the game. This includes CryptoPunks, Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, Moca, and many more!
Nifty Island is rapidly becoming a go-to spot for community game nights for many different gaming communities. Especially when they can build their own themed community space within the game. And with their growing number of options for creating and building, expect to see much more attention on Nifty Island in the future!
