Fallout 4 - Finding the guy behind the kidnapping of the main character's son

in Hive Gaming5 years ago (edited)

In one of my previous Fallout 4 gameplays, I was able to rescue a half-ghoul half-robot guy who works as a detective in Diamond City. After rescuing him, this character informs me that I should pay him a visit in his office in Diamond City so he can provide me with some help in finding Shaun, the son of the character we control in this world.

At the beginning of the game, when the nuclear apocalypse is happening, we are taken into an underground facility and it is possible to see the nuclear blast above our heads as the metal door is closing. It is a very impactful beginning and one that completely immerses you in this fictional world.

In this underground facility, we are put inside some pods that will allow the people inside to sort of hibernate for several years without dying. The problem starts when some unknown people kill the wife and kidnap the child, leaving the father, which means our character, without family. One of the main incentives for our character to explore this destroyed world is to find his son and revenge the murder of his wife.

I was back in Diamond City and visited this detective to see how he could help me. He explained there were several groups that could commit this type of crime but only 1 would have the resources to pull it off, The Institute. After I described him one of the individuals he quickly identified him and informs me he has a house here in Diamond City!

The next thing we are doing is going to his house. Here is a screenshot showing how Diamond City looks like.

Screenshot (3).png

That's the house we are looking for. Sadly it is locked and no one of us is able to break that advanced lock. That means we need to go and find the key to this house.

Screenshot (4).png

In this screenshot, we can see the big lights from what used to be a baseball field. There is also my always present robot, the best companion in all of Fallout 4.

Screenshot (5).png

The solution is to go to the Mayor's office and ask for the key to be given to me. It sounds easy but it is most likely an illegal request.

Screenshot (6).png

Once I arrive there is this journalist fighting with the Mayor's secretary. She was also fighting with the Mayor the first time I arrived in this city so I wouldn't be surprised to see her disappearing sometime in the future.

Screenshot (7).png

I was unable to convince the Mayor to give me the key. I wasn't even able to bribe him. There was the possibility of trying to rob the key from his pocket but this would have caused too much trouble. So I went to his secretary and luckily, I was able to convince her. She gave me the key for free and then I went back to the house.

Screenshot (8).png

This is how the house looks like from the inside. It is all very normal but there was a hidden button beneath the desk.

Screenshot (9).png

A secret door opened, and inside there were a bunch of valuable items, including the 2 Nuka-Cola Quantum from the screenshot below. I found a lot of ammunition and an item that, with the help of a dog, should lead me to the current location of this person.

Screenshot (10).png

The next part of the mission is to follow this dog throughout the wasteland with the hopes he can find the secret location where the criminal is hiding.

Screenshot (11).png

This is how Diamond City looks from the outside. There is even a baseball statue in front of the entrance.

Screenshot (12).png

The dog started to walk through all sorts of places, including some railroads.

Screenshot (13).png

I needed to find other items for the dog to sniff and continue his guidance.

Screenshot (14).png

There were also some enemies along the road, but I was accompanied by the robot and the dog so it was no big deal to kill these violent animals.

Screenshot (15).png

I saw at least one potential enemy in that enlightened place, I thought about killing him with one of my sniper rifles but I didn't want to lose sight of the dog so I left him alone.

Screenshot (16).png

The final place was very far away from the zones I have explored. You can see in the map below this is the only icon discovered in this zone, this was the first time I went so deep in this part of the map.

Screenshot (18).png

There were a lot of turrets firing at me. Very high-end protection for sure.

Screenshot (19).png

Once I was inside, there were synths protecting this place. These synths are robots with some biological parts, the earlier versions clearly look like robots but it is said that the most advanced versions are indistinguishable from human beings. I am expecting at least one important "human" character to be revealed as a synth later in the game.

In the screenshot below I torched 1 or 2 of them, the red dots in the lower part of the screen are from each synth that's trying to kill me.

Screenshot (20).png

Here are 2 dead synths. They use special guns from the Institute that instead of firing bullet, these guns use fusion cells as ammo and shot some type of laser.

Screenshot (21).png

The shining thing you can see on the right creates some type of lighting that can be dangerous. That's why I was hiding behind a dead synth body and a filled box to protect myself.

Screenshot (22).png

This is how a synth head looks like. At least one from the earlier versions.

Screenshot (23).png

2 more dead synths. The one on the right was shaking but I believe that was a little bug in the game.

Screenshot (25).png

This regular synth from the picture below was looking for me. But it was no match against all of my arsenal. That revolver looks small but it is very powerful.

Screenshot (26).png

One of the synths I killed had this special gun, I was disappointed because despite being special its stats aren't all that great. I have another gun that uses the same ammo and makes much more damage.

Screenshot (27).png

When I was killing all of these robots I couldn't prevent myself from thinking about the Terminator movies. Only this time the robots weren't super strong, and could easily be killed.

Screenshot (28).png

That clearly looks like a Terminator lite. ^^

Screenshot (29).png

I enjoy using Molotovs very much. Every time I see 2 or more enemies standing very close to each other I try to torch them.

Screenshot (30).png

Finally, after killing a bunch of robots I was able to find the man I was looking for. He is known as Kellogg, just like the cereal company.

Screenshot (31).png

This is how he looks like, and on the left side of the screen, you can also see one of the synths that are protecting him.

Screenshot (33).png

The fight was unavoidable, he informed me the child was with the Institute and that would be the next step in this plot. But first, I needed to kill this guy. He was able to turn invisible but I don't know how, my robot was always able to see him so I throw him a Molotov and since he was burning I was also able to see him, or at least his flames. In the end, he was unable to survive.

Screenshot (34).png

He had several interesting artifacts that I still don't know to use but I hope I can use them in the future:

This gun does look nice. Good stats as well.

Screenshot (38).png

When everything was ready, I went out of this place and what I saw was a huge surprise. I have never seen helicopters before in this game.

Screenshot (39).png

But that wasn't the biggest surprise, the biggest one was this huge SHIP! For a moment I thought this is an alien invasion! but there aren't aliens in this place. I turned on the radio and I was able to hear this is the Brotherhood of Steel! The same group that I found in the previous mission with all of those power armors.

That was crazy and they looked very powerful and badass. I hope to do some missions with them very soon.

Playing this game is my dream since I played Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I really want to play it but my laptop is cheap, its so fucking hard to get a good laptop in this poor country, someday I will buy a nice laptop, and the fisrt thing I will do is installing this incredible game, highly reccomended if you haven't played it yet.

Yes, being a gamer in Venezuela is very frustrating. I believe the future of gaming lies in services like Google's Stadia, have you read about it?

I don't think it is available in Venezuela and the internet would have to be faster than Venezuela's average speed, but that type of service would allow people to play in slow hardware. They will only need fast internet speed.

I've never read about it... internet connection in here is very slow btw, but you can hire satellital internet connection and have a better speed for gaming or anything you want but its not cheap...
nice post, friend, hope to read more about this game, a masterpiece.

I remember playing this mission! I left off somewhere around here. One day I should get back to this game. Good luck in the future.

I feel like I am just beginning this game and I have been playing for a good while. That's what I like about Bethesda's games, they are massive!

I love all the odds and ends you can collect and just hoarding them in my house
