Hi there. In this Pokemon TCG Pocket post I talk about this emblem event that requires players to get 5 wins a row against other players online.
Emblem Event
Instead of me typing out the event details here are the screenshot pictures from the game on my phone.
Win five games in a row to get the gold Emblem pin. This gold pin is the final collectable for this event.
Deck Used
For this battle event I used my Blaine Ninetales & Rapidash deck. I wanted to use something fast and easy to use. A second option was a Pikachu ex deck.
- x2 Vulpix
- x2 Ponyta (10 + 30 damage Stomp attack)
- x2 Rapidash (40 damage for 1 Fire Energy version)
- x2 Ninetales
- x1 Farfetch'd
- x2 Professor's Research
- x2 Blaine
- x1 Sabrina
- x2 Poke Ball
- x1 Red Card
- x1 X Speed
- x2 Potion
Round 1 Versus Weezing & Arbok
I went second. My opponent opened with a Koffing and Ekans. I assumed an Arbok + Weezing deck.
In the opponent's second turn there was no evolution in play if I remember. In my second turn I had Ninetales out to knockout the opponent's active Pokemon. The deck was too fast and aggressive for the opponent. Some luck was involved too.
Round 2 Versus Pikachu themed deck
My round two opponent used an electric deck with Pikachu ex. I don't remember the details other than I won fairly quickly with some good luck.
Round 3 Versus Pikachu ex, Raichu & Magneton
Round three was against Pikachu ex, Raichu and Magneton. The opponent's starter was just the Pikachu. There was a turn two Magneton (I think) from the opponent. With that Magneton in play I had to be careful of any upcoming Raichu + Magneton + Lt. Surge combo for a knockout.
I do recall knocking out the 60HP Pikachu quickly to remove a Raichu threat. Later in the game I win with the Ninetales + Blaine combo to knockout 120 HP Pikachu ex.
Round 4 Versus Marowak ex + Machamp ex
This round 4 opponent was a bit different. It was a Marowak ex + Machamp ex deck. The opponent's Active Pokemon was a Machop with a Cubone on the Bench with one energy after the first turn going second.
The opponent got a turn 2 Marowak ex in play. Leaf was used to retreat the Machop into Marowak ex. It was good for one that the Marowak only got one Heads out of 2 flips. Two heads would do 160 damage to knockout the Ninetales I had in the Active Spot.
My memory is fuzzy here. I think I did Ninetales 90 or 120 damage then used a second Pokemon to finish off the Marowak ex. Then I eventually knocked out the Machoke in one hit.
I had to play really well to get the fourth win in a row. Luck was in my favour here too. This was the most difficult match here.
Round 5 Against Grass Deck
For round 5 I got paired against a Level 13 player. Level 13 is not very high so I think the matchmaking is messed up here. The opponent's deck was not very good. Too many evolution lines being used. There was a good chance that the opponent did not have Pokemon ex cards. The win was pretty straight forward. (Screenshot included)
When You Get The 5 Wins In A Row
You get an emblem badge for your accomplishments. It is a bit of a bragging rights item. It shows that you play a lot and you are good at the game. There are players who don't play too much but are good at the game. This is a nice to have item but it is not everything in my opinion. Screenshots below.
In my matchups I did not face any Celebi ex decks, Mewtwo ex decks nor any Water deck. No Water deck opponents was really lucky. As long as you don't get bad matchups for your deck getting the 5 wins in a row is not impossible. Make sure you play well and do what you can given the cards you are dealt. This is easier said than done I think. I got lucky in my first attempt.
