Since I was a kid I have liked games with a competitive component, I remember playing Street Fighter against my brothers or friends on my Super Nintendo, to the Call of Duty Xbox 360 and PS3 which were the competitive games I played the most at that time.
Desde niño me han agradado los juegos con componente competitivo, recuerdo jugar al Street Fighter contra mis hermanos o amigos en mi Super Nintendo, hasta los Call of Duty de Xbox 360 y PS3 que fueron los competitivos que más jugué en esa época.
The Halo saga, the Modern Warfare and Black Ops of Call of Duty always had a place in my gaming sessions on weekends with 3 friends. We even had Xbox Lan Parties at home (yes, I'm proudly from the Lan Party era). Because of this, I got used to the search for realism at a graphical level in those competitive games, and Fortnite is the opposite of all that.
La saga Halo, los Modern Warfare y Black Ops de Call of Duty siempre tenían lugar en mis sesiones de juego los fines de semana junto a 3 amigos. Incluso llegamos a armar Lan Party de Xbox en casa (sí, soy de la época Lan Party con mucho orgullo). Debido a esto, me acostumbre a la búsqueda del realismo a nivel grafico en esos juegos competitivos, y justamente Fortnite es lo contrario a todo aquello.
I was one of those who dreamed of having a pc that could run decently PUBG (the first great Battle Royale), but even then I could not enjoy a title like that due to a poor internet connection. There was no other connectivity option in my home and we were chained to a single internet company, which had a highly deficient service.
Fui uno de los que soñaba con tener una pc que pudiese mover decentemente PUBG (el primer gran Battle Royale), pero es que ni así podría disfrutar bien de un título como ese debido a una conexión deficiente de internet. No había otra opción de conectividad en mi hogar y estábamos encadenados a una sola compañía de internet, la cual tenía un servicio altamente deficiente.
As time went by I put aside my desire to play this type of shooters competitively, concentrating only on the single player campaigns, and the rest of the adventure catalog and other genres that my console of the moment provided me with.
Con el tiempo fui dejando de lado mis ganas por jugar este tipo de shooters de forma competitiva, concentrándome solo en las campañas para 1 jugador, y del resto de catálogo de aventuras y otros géneros que me facilitase mi consola del momento.
Multiplayer games came to Smartphones, and due to the less demanding connection, I could sometimes play Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG Mobile (when the ping was not as high as usual).
Llegaron los multijugador a los Smartphone, y debido a la menor exigencia en cuanto a conexión, podría jugar a veces alguna que otra partida a Call of Duty Mobile y PUBG Mobile (cuando el ping no estuviese tan alto como de costumbre).
As time went by and thanks to new opportunities, I managed to move with my family to a new house where they already offered a fiber internet service with good speed, this happened in conjunction with the acquisition of my small Xbox Series S, giving rise to a new world of possibilities in terms of online entertainment.
Con el pasar del tiempo y gracias a nuevas oportunidades, logre moverme con mi familia a una nueva vivienda donde ya ofrecían un servicio de internet de fibra óptica de buena velocidad, ésto ocurrió en conjunto con la adquisición de mi pequeña Xbox Series S, dando pie a un mundo nuevo de posibilidades en cuanto a entretenimiento online.
PUBG and Rogue Company became 2 escape valves to de-stress from certain life moments, and thanks to a cousin who has become my comrade in arms, we became regular users of both games' servers.

I always looked askance at Fortnite, being the usual game for little kids, because of the cartoonishness of its graphics, and, above all, I hated the fact that I could "build" in the middle of a shootout (I'm very old school, I know). Buuuuuut...

Not long ago they enabled a "No Build" mode, which I decided to try with my cousin to play something different... Big MISTAKE. Now we can not spend even 1 day without playing, and if it happens, we feel incomplete hehehehehehe.
Hace no mucho tiempo habilitaron un modo “Sin Construcción” el cual me dio por probar con mi primo para jugar algo diferente... Craso ERROR. Ahora no podemos pasar ni 1 día sin jugar, y si llega a ocurrir, nos sentimos incompletos jejejeje.
The fact that I didn't like it because of its graphics and lack of graphic violence, made me understand with time (and already having my 2 little ones) that the company simply made sure that their title could reach the widest possible audience (applause for Epic Games).
Aquello de que no me gustase por sus gráficos y falta de violencia gráfica, me hizo comprender con el tiempo (y ya teniendo mis 2 pequeños) que simplemente la compañía se aseguró de que su título pudiese llegar al más amplio publico posible (aplausos para Epic Games).
I'm sure my case is not the only one out there, if anyone is curious about a different multiplayer shooter, try fortnite in "no build mode", you won't regret it.

De seguro mi caso no es el único allá afuera, si alguien tiene curiosidad por un shooter multijugador diferente, que pruebe fortnite en modo sin construcción, no se arrepentirá.

And I don't think it's entirely true that only little kids play the game, we always find enemies that we have a hard time eliminating, or we are the ones eliminated by them...
Although, who knows, maybe those who kick our asses are little kids!
Y eso de que solo juegan niños pequeños, no creo que sea del todo cierto, siempre nos encontramos con enemigos que nos cuesta mucho eliminar, o de plano somos nosotros los eliminados por ellos...
Aunque, quien sabe, quizás esos que nos patean el trasero si sean niños pequeños!

Muchos de nosotros en la comunidad también decidimos jugar Fortnite debido al modo sin construcción. El construir siempre me pareció bastante estúpido, realmente no me gustaba nada. Los gráficos no me disgustaban, pero estaba acostumbrado a gráficos un poco más realistas y menos cartoon. Más tarde pude disfrutar este juego con amigos y hasta el día de hoy puedo decir que no está nada mal para un par de partidas.
Acabo de alucinar con la actualización de dragon ball! El poder de Shen Long se siente al usar el Kamehamehaaaaa!!! jejeje. Gracias por tu comment Perceval! salu2

As an OG player of Fortnite, I must say that the first chapter was the best. Now, they added way too much stuff. And yeah, the ratio of young adults to adults playing this game is high.
