Again I present another game that marked part of my childhood as I spent hours watching my older brother play Resident Evil 4 because I was very afraid, but the years passed and my nerves became a little bit heavier so I encouraged myself to try it. Since I knew the game I have become a fan, of all the Resident Evil Saga, the fourth installment is the one I liked the most. However, its old and new releases are also very good, if it is about history. So this post is dedicated more to share a little bit of history and my personal experience playing it.

Also known as biohazard is a third person survival horror game developed by Capcom. As you advance in its history it becomes more and more difficult to face the enemies and, mainly, how terrifying the bosses can be, each one of them will test your abilities as a player.

History

The plot of the game puts us six years later in the skin of Leon Scott Kennedy, a survivor of the viral disaster that destroyed Raccoon City, now converted after that event into a U.S. Secret Service agent sent to a rural area of Spain with the mission of rescuing the daughter of the President of the United States, Ashley Graham who was kidnapped by a sect that operates in the area. Leon's investigation is complicated after a horde of angry villagers attacked him for no apparent reason.

Leon travels to an undisclosed village in Spain, accompanied by two local police officers. They are attacked by a group of villagers on the outskirts of town, so Leon decides to flee quickly to the village, discovering that the officers accompanying him were killed. Upon entering the village, Leon is discovered by the population who attack him in a hostile manner. Thus, Leon tries to resist the attack of the villagers until they react to the sound of a nearby church bell, leaving Leon alone. Leon discovers that the villagers are faithful to a mysterious group known as the Illuminati, the cult that perpetuated Ashley's abduction. During his investigations, Leon meets Luis Sera, a former investigator who was on the trail of the Illuminati, and finally decides to help Leon in his mission.

Leon Kennedy meets Luis Sera
Examining Sera's notes, Leon discovers that the Enlightened Ones gained control of the other people in the village by implanting a mind-control parasite known as "The Pests" into their bodies. These parasites take control of their body and mind, and transform them into subjects docile to the manipulation and control of the leader of the religion. Unfortunately, Leon and Luis are captured, during which time Leon is injected with the parasite.
After escaping and meeting a mysterious man known as the Merchant (or Hawker) (who sells Leon various ammunition and weapons), Leon returns to his target.

As he explores the house where he is being held, he meets the leader of the village, a man named Bitores Mendez, who tells him that he is infected with the parasite and will soon be part of the order.

The lake monster appears after this, Leon gets into a small boat and crosses across a lake. But on the way he is attacked by a huge and dangerous creature, and he has to face it. This creature is known by the locals as the Lake Monster. Leon defeats the creature, but he is severely fatigued and collapses in a hut and remains unconscious for six hours. After regaining consciousness, he obtains a key to open the church where Ashley is located.

The Giant appears on the way back, Leon witnesses how the villagers try to set a trap for him; after lowering the gates, they open a huge door and thanks to some ropes they release a fierce and gigantic creature known as The Giant (a huge being infected with the plagues that will try to end everything in its path). He quickly dispatches the villagers who freed him, however, Leon's experience will help him to face and defeat this monstrous creature.
While escaping with Ashley, he meets the mastermind of the kidnapping, the leader of the Illuminati: Osmund Saddler. He tells them about the plagues growing on their bodies, and his plan to dominate the world.

Leon discovers the mutated form of Bitores Mendez, and after a hard fight, Leon defeats his enemy and takes his false eye to use it in a retinal scanner at the exit of the village.

It opens the door that leads to the castle. Leon and Ashley think they can take refuge in it until another helicopter arrives, but, they were wrong.
After meeting another of Saddler's acolytes, the castle's Spanish-speaking Ramon Salazar (who disrupts Leon's communication with his contacts in the United States), Leon and Ashley travel to the center of the castle.

Then, Leon makes his way through the castle meeting the monks or fanatics.

Later Salazar decides to send one of his executioners to fight Leon, this happens in the sewers, and your mission is to put the elevator to work while you fight the enemy.

As Ashley tours the castle she is caught by a Novistador and sent to the military research island, forcing Leon to travel there with Ada after defeating Ramon Salazar.

Krauser uses the power of Pests
After numerous altercations with Saddler's henchmen, Leon must confront his former comrade and ally Jack Krauser twice. In the first confrontation Leon is helped by Ada, who saved his life at the last minute. However, in the second confrontation, Leon had to face Krauser alone in a very hard fight. After Leon passed all the tests set by Krauser, he proposes a last combat where he will finally show all his power. Although this was not enough and Leon was victorious.

Saddler shows his true form after the fight against Krauser and It, Leon can finally successfully rescue Ashley and escape Saddler with the help of Ada. However, Saddler captures Ada and challenges Leon to one last fight. After an intense fight with Saddler which mutates his body into a monstrous appearance, Leon kills him with a special rocket launcher provided by Ada. After recovering the sample Ada forces him to give it to her, and gives him the keys of a jet ski to escape from the island, while she escapes from the complex in a helicopter.
Although Leon and Ashley manage to escape from the island, the whereabouts and fate of the exhibit remain uncertain.

Gameplay

From the beginning to the end it is a game that catches you completely, makes you want to play it and finish it as soon as possible. Of all the enemies (bosses) the one that scared me the most because of its appearance was the "Regenerator", it also makes a quite particular sound, and you must also know well where to shoot it because, as its name indicates, it regenerates little by little if you take time to kill it.

In this game you will find a variety of characters, both the good ones and the villains, that as you go through the story you will get to know them, and you will realize if you hate them or not. I personally felt a deep affection for the character of Luis Sera, because despite being involved with the bad guys, at the last moment he decided to betray them to do good before dying tragically. The good thing was that in the end his death was avenged by our protagonist.
