Helping Camelot And The Knights.jpg

I was quite excited to enter Camelot Castle and get to speak with King Arthur. Even more so since I'd be doing a quest series for Camelot there. I kind of wish there was more questing for the area, but it was at least something.

Quest: Merlin’s Crystal

It all starts with Merlin. Unlike one of the later quests this one had quite low requirements to at least start it. It turns out Merlin has been missing. He ended up getting himself trapped in a crystal and I needed to free him.

I ended up walking around the Camelot castle and speaking with some of the knights to get a better understanding of the situation. Some of them were quite more helpful than others. I was not shocked to find out it was all Morgan Le Faye doing! It’s a shame I don’t get to deal with her.

I also found out she has a stronghold and I got to sneak into it. I ended up needing to hide in a box that was expected to be candles. It was quite funny as her people picked up the creature to load it onto the ship. They kept complaining about how heavy the shipment of candles was. Even after dropping the crate off on the docks, they seemed to be a little more alarmed about the weight of the crate than I would have liked.

They must have been some lazy workers. I had on a set of graceful which reduced my weight by quite a decent amount. I should have been lighter than a shipment of candles I would have thought.

I then had to sneak my way into the keep. My target was a level 39 traitor who goes by the name Sir Mordred. He did not deserve to keep the title of sir. I quickly dispatched him and teleported out of the area before any kind of alarm could be sounded.

I then went around stealing some things. I needed to have a candle made from some beeswax and a bucket I helped myself. Along with some poison to make it a black candle. Quite a strange thing to need.

I was then off to see Lady of the Lake. I felt this was all happening way too fast. She was not just going to give me Excalibur. I’d have to earn it in some way. I ended up passing her test a little later on and was given it as a reward.

With some running in between. I then found myself making my way up to the tower with the giant crystal that Merlin was trapped in. With one good hit from Excalibur, the crystal broke and Merlin was free!

I would have thought a quest like this would have rewarded some combat experience of some sort. It however did not. I got at least six quest points and Excalibur. It also unlocked the next quest in the series for me to do.

Quest: Holy Grail

Next up I was tasked with finding the Holy Grail. I could not believe my luck to be picked to take up such an important task! I almost ran out of Camelot so fast that I realized I did not talk to some of the knights and get some clues I'd need for my search.

I was also made a knight of the Round Table. I really would have thought that it would be harder to become a member. It’s not that I'm compiling. It would have just been nice to have a bit more of an in-depth process to have been made one. It seems I'm making quite a name for myself now.

It was at least great to see Merlin who was one of the NPCs I needed to talk with was in better shape. Even after all that time, he was trapped in a crystal. Between him, a talk with a high priest, and some others. I was now on the trail to find the Holy Grail.

draynor maner.jpg

It has been quite some time since I've had to go to the Draynor Maner. I had thought I was fully done with this place. It turns out I was not. I needed to go there to get some magic whistles that would teleport me when I blew into one of them at the correct location.

It was a bit of a run, but I made it out to a clearing that had some trees around it. The whistle took me to a new land where I had to do battle with a level 120 Black Knight that had 142 health.

While I had to take him using Excalibur. I only needed the killing blow using it. So, I got his health down quite low before making the switch. I wanted to make sure I did not accidentally kill him with my rune scimitar.

All of this was done just to have an in-person meeting with The Fisher King. He was unwilling to help me in the slightest until I found his son with the golden boots. Thankfully the boots themselves could be tracked.

Do you know who else likes gold? Goblins! Those pesky beings. Not like they could stop me if they wanted at this point. I’ve killed enough of them to make the rivers run red for days.

the holy grail.jpg

Once that was all done, I was permitted to go up into a tower by the Fisher King himself and take The Holy Grail. Who would have thought it was in such a place the entire time?

With this quest out of the way, I found myself lacking the required defense levels to move forward to the next for some time. At the very least I got 15k defense experience which gave me another level. Along with 11k prayer experience for 5-level gain.

Quest: King’s Random

the manner.jpg

The requirements to even start this quest were quite shocking. Between needing the quest One Small Favour that I thought would never end and 65 defense. Let’s just say it would be a while before I was able to even start this quest. I even attempted for a while to make getting to 65 defense a priority but I quickly learned some things you just should not rush.

This one was quite a shocker of a quest as well. I was sent up to Sinclair Manor to reinvestigate a murder that I had found the evidence and pointed the finger at the person who I thought had done it.

I was sent back into the manner to have a double look and collect some information. It turns out there were some red herrings planted for me to find. Before I knew it I was at a jail cell talking to Anna.

asking questions.jpg

Of all the strange things I've done in this game I was not expecting to be someone's lawyer and go through a trial to free them for a crime I have in the past said they were the one to do it. What a strange twist of fate.

So, to get what I wanted I had to call witnesses and poke holes in the stories and official narrative. To make sure that doubt would be cast and that Anna would end up being sent free. Which in the end she was.

backstab.jpg

That is when I learned she was also the person who not only committed the murder but was involved in kidnapping as well. I however did not learn that before getting backstabbed by her myself. The information she gave me led me into a trap.

It turns out Merlin, Arthur, and his knights had gone missing since the last time I had been in these parts. Which has been a while. I also ended up discovering where they were taken other than Arthur's location. As I was now sharing the same jail cell as the knights.

Thankfully I was there to save the day. I used a telekinetic grab on the guard in front of the cell door. We then made our way to the top to escape the dungeon we were in.

There was fighting going on everywhere by the time I broke out. It was tempting to want to help but I did not come prepared for combat. I had to make sure I secured The Holy Grail that was being kept at the top of the tower. The last thing we needed during our jailbreak was someone moving it to another site.

freeing arthur.jpg

I then went off to free Arthur who was frozen in stone at a different location. I had already acquired the spell to free him from when I did One Small Favour. So that was the easy part. I then returned to Camelot for my reward.

I was somewhat shocked that the 33k experience I got as a reward in defense did not take me from 65 to 66 defenses. Sure, it put in a sizeable chunk of what I needed. It was however not enough. This one here on out is going to take some effort to even get a level up in.

I also got 5k in magic experience. Which was enough for me to get to my next magic level. While I was not doing this quest for the magic experience. That was a nice little bonus.

Final Thoughts

kings ransom done.jpg

The big reason for wanting to finish this quest series was for something I can’t even do quite yet. With King’s Ransom done I can now do Knight Waves Training Grounds. Which will give me access to some rather powerful prayers. I sadly lack the level to even use the prayers such as Chivalry and Piety. This was however quite an important quest series to have out of the way.

I also now have level 65 defense. Which is quite important for using and acquiring some other stuff. That stuff I also can’t quite acquire just yet as I need some further leveling in my lagging attack and strength levels. I am however getting close.
