The First Humans And The Spider.jpg

It was time to battle some bosses and get myself some answers. It would turn out that some things I thought were fables were true about this alien planet. Like always things were not as straightforward as one would hope. I am dealing with aliens after all for the most part.

I ended up getting far too distracted over the past few days. This time however I was on a mission to head south and clear out the dungeon down there if I could open the doors. This as it turns out I could.

I was told these dungeons had been taken over by military forces. That an AI was running the show. This very AI wanted help escaping. However, their program prevented them from helping me. So, the very thing I was supposed to be helping escape. Would be the very thing that was activity stopping me.

For a moment I paused and gave it a decent thought. Do I want to help this AI out? It was offering me power and information. I however felt I should not fully be trusting it. I however felt like I was at a dead end of sorts. Without trying to help it I might be stuck in my local area.

I ended up entering into the dungeon. Clearing out a few of the patrols inside. For my efforts at the very least, I was awarded a tech core that I quickly used to unlock more unit types in the tech tree.

The new units ended up not being that great and I'd only end up using one of the new units I had access to moving forward. At least this time around I spent some time testing them out on the battlefield before spending points in the tech tree on anything.

Inside that dungeon, I also discovered there are a bunch of devices that need to be activated. This then would allow the AI to escape or override the systems. Most of these devices I needed to find were however quite a distance away. Far enough that for the time being I would not be able to reach them.

I ended up just going back to grinding out some levels and clearing a couple of the last remaining spots of fog on my local map. There were also a few creatures I had been just passing around to avoid entering into combat with them. Some of them I decided it was just time to clear them off the map.

While out exploring I ended up getting a message that the first humans that landed on this alien planet wanted to have a word with me. They did not want to show themselves in the video call they made with me. This left me wondering if I was about to go into some kind of ambush.

Things then got even stranger. Further settlements claiming to be the first humans that landed on this planet also contacted me. Stating they as well have been watching my progress and want to share information.

It was clear not all of these people were who they claimed to be. There was however only one way to find out the real truth. I had to start going to the locations that were given to me and hope whatever was waiting for me was something I could survive.

Humans if you could even call them that anymore at many of these settlements were infected or have mutated into other things. At one of these locations, they even offered to let me spend the night. I wanted to say no thanks but they were not taking no for an answer.

While trying to fall asleep in what felt like a human house. I was woken up by pounding sounds on the windows and doors. It turns out they were not who they claimed to be. They ambushed me in the middle of the night.

I barely escaped with nothing left of my army. It was quite clear these places were anything but safe. I decided to keep leveling up a little further till I had a lot more tech points to spend.

Thankfully due to being far too lazy. I had a lot of resources just stockpiling up at the base. I went around upgrading quite a few buildings. Perhaps the most important upgrade I've been neglecting is increasing my town's total population. This in turn would net me quicker tech point gains.

I ended up checking out yet another location that was given to me claiming to be the first humans. They were these strange mushroom people. They told me that the other camps feared a certain type of creature. If I ever wanted to know if I was dealing with legit humans or not to just mention that creature's name.

I then went back to one of the settlements that I was unable to clear out the first time around. Sure, enough just saying a certain creature's name sent them off onto high alert. They also attacked me.

This time around like last time my entire army got taken out. It was just me and the boss remaining. It was quite a long fight and thankfully I had quite a few debuffs to use on it. To my shock, I ended up pulling off a win on this one.

From some talking with these people, I knew they had a satellite they were planning to launch at some point. I was hoping this would be the key to me getting a better overview of the planet.

Before the rocket could get far off the ground a giant sky spider came and destroyed it. I had been warned in the past about the sky spider. I just thought it was some kind of fable people talked about. It turns out the thing was real.

I ended up relocating the equipment to launch rockets into space back to my base. This time around I was planning on baiting out the sky spider and taking it out. That way the rocket could reach orbit without getting destroyed.

The sky spider ended up having an insane amount of health. Thankfully it was rather lacking in the damage department. I just had to keep taking out its legs that it would use to attack my units. This also then made it vulnerable to my attacks.

This fight went on for over twenty rounds. At one point I was expecting some kind of ambush of adds or something to wipe out what was remaining of my army that far into a fight.

Reinforcements for the spiders however never came. I just had to invest the time in slowly taking its health down till it reached zero. Once the spider was defeated, I launched the rocket and discovered not only other factions but quite a lot of new areas to explore.

At first reading the post I was in doubt with the quality of the game but I misjudged it, when you started telling about the ambush that those mutant humans did to you I was really glued to the screen reading what was going to happen, how great that you have shared this here.

This game ended up surprising me with how good it was.
