Upcoming Game Releases That I'm Looking Forward To

in Hive Gaming5 years ago

Here lately, I've been gaming less than normal because I'm waiting for some new games to come out that I'll be excited to play. Earlier this year I really got into Final Fantasy 15 and more recently I really got into Skyrim. All the games on this list are in no particular order, but I look forward to buying them and playing them when they come out!

Cyberpunk 2077

Release Date: September 17, 2020

First up is Cyberpunk 2077. I honestly didn't know if this game would appeal to me when I first heard about it, but after watching the trailer for it I was sold. I can't point out any particular thing about this game that seems appealing to me because honestly, it all does! Keanu Reeves being in it as well was just the cherry on top.

Horizon Zero Dawn [PC]

Release Date: Summer 2020

Horizon Zero Dawn actually came out back in 2017 for PS4, but this summer it's finally coming out for PC. I'd only heard about this game until recently when I'd seen some reactions on Youtube to some of it's gameplay footage. I love huge open worlds in games though and the heroine of this game seems like an absolute badass who rocks a bow to take down huge beasts. It's already on my wishlist.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2

Release Date: September 4, 2020

I loved playing the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games when I was a kid and this fall it'll be (hopefully) getting a proper remaster of the first two games. From what I've seen, the graphics and gameplay look fantastic. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 may have been terrible, but I'm holding out hope for this one.

Honorable Mentions

The last few games on this list either aren't coming out on PC anytime soon or aren't even announced yet which is why I'm putting them as honorable mentions.

The Last of Us Part 2 - I never got to beat the first game, but from what I remember playing of it, it lived up to it's reputation for great gameplay and a compelling story that people really loved. It gets an honorable mention because even though it is coming out this year, it doesn't seem like it'll be getting a PC release.

GTA 6 - This is REALLY stretching things a bit, but I'm pretty certain that Rockstar is currently working on GTA 6. If I had to guess, it'll probably be announced later this year and released maybe sometime late next year. If you want to believe online rumors, 2021 is when it's expected to be released. Either way, if it looks good, you damn right I plan on buying it!

The Elder Scrolls VI - Just like with GTA 6, it's highly unlikely that this will be coming out this year or even next year, but I'll definitely be playing this on day one of release.... whenever that is.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake - I never got to play the original Final Fantasy 7, but I'd play the Remake in a heartbeat if it comes out for PC. It'll be exclusively on the PS4 for it's first year, but it seems hopeful that Final Fantasy 7 Remake might be coming out for PC sometime next year.

Final Fantasy 16 - The Final Fantasy series is my absolute favorite game series. Final Fantasy 15, which I played earlier this year, I still consider to be the best damn game I've ever played purely from a gameplay standpoint. I look forward to the next game in this iconic series.

Silent Hill ? - It's rumored that Konami is making another Silent Hill game... or two. I felt a bit "meh" about Downpour which I finally played and reviewed earlier this year. I hope that the next Silent Hill game will bring back the atmospheric horror, great puzzles, fun gameplay, and the interesting stories that I grew up with when it came to the iconic games in the Silent Hill series like Silent Hill 2.
