For the world of video games, the GTA saga is one of the most important that have existed for the impact it had at the media level as such, and one of the most important games of the saga is obviously the San Andreas, which is the most remembered and most famous game of the entire franchise as such. I have always had the idea that this game is a bit overrated in my opinion, and it sounds strange coming from someone who is a fan of the saga, because I am, I have always liked the saga as such, but I have never given that special meaning to this game beyond the success and the impact it had on the industry and especially in the genre of open world games, that's why I admire it, but I will explain a little in this post to explain my point with this game.
Para el mundo de los videojuegos, la saga GTA es una de las más importantes que han existido por el impacto que tuvo a nivel mediático como tal, y uno de los juegos más importantes de la saga obviamente es el San Andreas, que es el juego más recordado y más famoso de toda la franquicia como tal. Siempre he tenido la idea de que este juego es un poco sobrevalorado a mi parecer, y suena extraño viniendo de alguien que es fan de la saga, porque lo soy, a mi siempre me ha gustado la saga como tal, pero nunca le he dado ese significado especial a este juego más allá del éxito y el impacto que tuvo sobre la industria y sobre todo en el género de los juegos de mundo abierto, por eso lo admiro, pero ya me explicare un poco en este post para explicar mi punto con este juego.
GTA San Andreas as you know is a game that is almost 2 decades old as you know, it is a game from 2004 and that is noticeable at a glance, the game has an excuse for the fact that it is an open world game, it uses a lot of terrain and therefore is not going to have the same quality as other games of that time such as for example Halo, Resident Evil 4 and more games of the same generation, because is that they are games that do not have maps as large as this game, so it is clear that they can afford to show a better graphical section in general. The game graphically has aged very badly, I think we are very used to seeing the game as such and that is why we do not notice it, we do not pay so much attention, but it is a game that has aged terribly, graphically it looks horrible especially if we play the PS2 version, which looks as if they had put a blurry yellow filter, it seems as if the game had heat or something, but if you have played the other versions you will see the differences.
GTA San Andreas como saben es un juego que casi tiene 2 décadas como saben, es un juego de 2004 y eso se nota a simple vista, el juego tiene una excusa por el hecho de que es un juego de mundo abierto, utiliza mucho terreno y por lo tanto no va a tener la misma calidad que otros juegos de aquella época como por ejemplo Halo, Resident Evil 4 y más juegos de la misma generación, porque es que son juegos que no tienen mapas tan grandes como el de este juego, así que es evidente que se pueden dar el lujo de mostrar un mejor apartado gráfico en general. El juego gráficamente ha envejecido muy mal, creo que estamos muy acostumbrados a ver el juego como tal y es por eso que no lo notamos, no le prestamos tanta atención, pero es un juego que ha envejecido fatal, gráficamente se ve horrible sobre todo si jugamos la versión de PS2, que parece como si le hubieran puesto un filtro amarillo borroso, parece como si en el juego hubiera calor o algo, pero si han jugado las otras versiones verán las diferencias.
At the story level is one of my favorites of the saga, and I want to believe that this game is the most remembered for this, because in reality it is a game that lives of mods and the community that has been responsible for keeping it alive with weird things in social networks, and I say weird because they no longer find what to invent to get content about this game. But speaking of the story as such, we all know it, I'm not going to explain it, I'll just say that it is good and in my opinion one of the best in the series, however, I think it is behind Vice City, GTA 3, and GTA 4 also, which have more concise and interesting stories for my taste, although they do not have the open world that has this San Andreas.
A nivel de historia es uno de mis favoritos de la saga, y yo quiero creer que este juego es el más recordado por esto, porque en realidad es un juego que vive de los mods y de la comunidad que se ha encargado de mantenerlo vivo con cosas raras en redes sociales, y digo raras porque ya no encuentran qué inventarse para sacar contenido sobre este juego. Pero ya hablando de la historia como tal, la conocemos todos, no me voy a poner a explicarla, solo voy a decir que es buena y a mi parecer de las mejores de la saga, sin embargo, me parece que está por detrás de la de Vice City, GTA 3, y GTA 4 tambén, que tienen historias más concisas e interesantes para mi gusto, a pesar de que no tienen ese mundo abierto que tiene este San Andreas.
At the gameplay level is a game that has aged poorly in my opinion, the aiming system is terrible, in the console version is an automatic aiming that I do not want to remember, and then on PC is like any game out there. You have a good variety of weapons luckily, you have strange weapons and that's something I've always liked about the saga. The driving is very good, it does better than some open world games out there, but nevertheless, it's good for the year it came out. The missions if I have to say that they have aged badly too, it's the same thing that happens to the other games in the saga, the missions are based on going from one point to another, and it's not exactly a bad thing, but this game doesn't disguise it one bit, I know it's a game from 2004, but even at that time there were games that showed another way of doing things, and it is not something of this game that is stuck in this way of doing missions, it is something that even the other games of the saga suffer, both earlier and later, and it is something that I would change in my opinion.
A nivel de jugabilidad es un juego que ha envejecido mal también a mi parecer, el sistema de apuntado es malísimo, en la versión de consola es un apuntado automático que no quiero recordar, y pues en PC es como cualquier juego por ahí. Tienes buena variedad de armas por suerte, tienes armas extrañas y es algo que siempre me ha gustado de la saga. La conducción es muy buena, lo hace mejor que algunos juegos de mundo abierto por ahí, pero sin embargo, es buena para el año en el que salió. Las misiones si tengo que decir que han envejecido mal también, le pasa lo mismo que a los demás juegos de la saga, las misiones se basan en ir de un punto a otro, y no es algo precisamente malo, pero este juego no lo disimula ni un poco, sé que es un juego de 2004, pero incluso en esa época habían juegos que mostraban otra forma de hacer las cosas, y no es algo de este juego el que se haya quedado estancado en esta forma de hacer misiones, es algo que lo sufren incluso los demás juegos de la saga, tanto los anteriores como los posteriores, y es algo que yo cambiaría a mi parecer.

It seems as if I have hate to this game, but it is not, it is one of my favorites of the saga, but I personally think it is a game that is very inflated for what it really is, it lives for the mods, not for what the game itself is. In its time I quite enjoyed the things that the community did, the weird mods, the legends of the game, the glitches, all that, are things that I will always have in my memory, but that does not blind me from what the game itself is, which is good, but it does not reach for a masterpiece or anything like that.
Parece como si le tuviera hate a este juego, pero no es así, es de mis favoritos de la saga, pero creo personalmente que es un juego que está muy inflado para lo que realmente es, vive por los mods, no por lo que es el juego en sí. En su tiempo disfruté bastante de las cosas que hacía la comunidad, los mods raros, las leyendas del juego, los glitchs, todo eso, son cosas que desde siempre tendré en la memoria, pero eso no me ciega de lo que es el juego en sí, que es bueno, pero tampoco llega para obra maestra ni nada parecido.
