Por cultura general todos los gamers deben saber que Nintendo es una de las compañías con más tiempo activa en la industria de los videojuegos, la cual ha creado varias consolas con el pasar de los años, pero no solo se han sido relevantes en ese aspecto, también han desarrollado juegos de excelente calidad, dando origen a franquicias famosas como The Legend of Zelda o Super Mario, como también a creado juegos con un potencial a futuro increíble, pero por alguna razón fueron olvidados.

By general culture all gamers should know that Nintendo is one of the companies with more time active in the gaming industry, which has created several consoles over the years, but not only have been relevant in that aspect, they have also developed games of excellent quality, giving rise to famous franchises like The Legend of Zelda or Super Mario, as well as created games with an incredible future potential, but for some reason were forgotten.

Dichos juegos olvidados tenían muchas cosas interesantes para formar una nueva secuela, sin embargo, fueron varios los motivos por los cuales la empresa no decidió continuar con esos proyectos, bien sea por no hacerle competencia a sus propios productos, decisiones de marketing o el lanzamiento de un nuevo juego que opacó totalmente su creación anterior.

These forgotten games had many interesting things to form a new sequel, however, there were several reasons why the company did not decide to continue with these projects, either for not making competition to their own products, marketing decisions or the launch of a new game that totally overshadowed its previous creation.

Barker Bill's Trick Shooting

La Nintendo Zapper fue sin dudas una revolución para las consolas en los años 80, debido a que transportaba la jugabilidad de un arcade hacia los hogares. Hay varios videojuegos conocidos en los cuales era obligatorio el uso de la Zapper, como por ejemplo Duck Hunt, pero dentro de este catálogo peculiar existe un juego que fue olvidado con los años, se trata de Barker Bill's Trick Shooting.

The Nintendo Zapper was undoubtedly a revolution for consoles in the 80's, because it transported the gameplay of an arcade to homes. There are several well-known video games in which the use of the Zapper was mandatory, such as Duck Hunt, but within this peculiar catalog there is a game that was forgotten over the years, it is Barker Bill's Trick Shooting.

La razón de que este título no tuviera una secuela es por una diferencia entre Nintendo de América y Nintendo Japón, debido a que los primeros pagaron una suma de dinero considerable al dueño del programa de televisión que tenía el mismo nombre, algo que Nintendo Japón no consideró correcto, por consecuente se descartó por completo la posibilidad de tener una secuela con dicho nombre. Muchos especulan que sería lanzada para la Super Nintendo con el nombre de Super Barker Bill's Trick Shooting.

The reason why this title did not have a sequel is due to a difference between Nintendo of America and Nintendo Japan, because the former paid a considerable amount of money to the owner of the TV show that had the same name, something that Nintendo Japan did not consider correct, consequently the possibility of having a sequel with that name was completely discarded. Many speculate that it would be released for the Super Nintendo under the name Super Barker Bill's Trick Shooting.

Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic

Este videojuego se ha hecho famoso con el tiempo debido a su historia con respecto a Super Mario Bros 2, ya que dicho título fue el elegido para reemplazar al juego anteriormente mencionado en América, debido a que consideraban pocos habilidosos los jugadores de dicha región, pero dejando esto a un lado, Doki Doki Panic era merecedor de una secuela.

This video game has become famous over time due to its history with respect to Super Mario Bros 2, since that title was the one chosen to replace the aforementioned game in America, because they considered the players in that region to be not very skilled, but leaving this aside, Doki Doki Panic was worthy of a sequel.

Pero por los sucesos anteriormente mencionados Nintendo decidió cancelar cualquier secuela, ya que muchos elementos se incorporaron al universo de Mario, por lo que el mundo de Doki Doki Panic perdió toda la originalidad. Hubiese sido excelente ver alguna continuación de este juego, pero es algo que lamentablemente jamás va a suceder.

But because of the above mentioned events Nintendo decided to cancel any sequel, since many elements were incorporated into the Mario universe, so the world of Doki Doki Panic lost all originality. It would have been great to see a sequel to this game, but unfortunately it will never happen.

The Mysterious Murasame Castle

Este es uno de los juegos más interesantes de esta lista y que muchos no conocen, se trató de un título de acción y aventuras que en un principio fue desarrollado para la Family Computer Disk System, para luego ser lanzado en formato cartucho para occidente en 1986. Este juego fue sobresaliente en muchos aspectos, teniendo todo el potencial para una futura secuela, pero un videojuego cambió el rumbo de la historia.

This is one of the most interesting games on this list and one that many do not know, it was an action-adventure title that was initially developed for the Family Computer Disk System, and then released in cartridge format for the West in 1986. This game was outstanding in many aspects, having all the potential for a future sequel, but one video game changed the course of history.

3 Meses antes del lanzamiento de Murasame Castle ya estaba en el mercado el primer The Legend of Zelda, el cual generó mucho más impacto en el mercado. Ambos títulos compartían ciertos aspectos, pero el que se llevó la fama fue The legend of Zelda, por lo que Nintendo decidió no hacerse a sí misma competencia, y descartó una futura entrega del grandioso Murasame Castle, el cual tenía un excelente futuro en los videojuegos.
