[GamerGeek Plays] Star Wars: Outlaws | Episode 1: Classic Ubisoft

Have you ever bought a game just to see how bad it is? Well that is something I did today. I had a family member making a trip into the city and asked them to pick me up Star Wars: Outlaws because my curiosity got the better of me. I figured that I could sate my curiosity while also telling you guys my honest opinion about the game.

My original plan was just to make some blog posts about it hence why in the video below the first 20 minutes of the game is not shown. But as I was playing I figured "Hell, I never did a Lets Play for a while, I might as well do one for Outlaws. So people can hear my real time thoughts about the game."

This was a new experience for me because I never recorded gameplay on the PS5 before with my mic hooked up to it. And honestly this is probably the last time I will do it because despite the mic being an actual PS5 headset made by sony having both gameplay audio and mic audio being recorded on the same track just made it horrible. So in the future I'll be breaking out my Capture Card to fix the issue.

Star Wars Outlaws is just failing to impress me so far. The game isn't original in the least. Most of the mechanics are just taken from other Ubi games like Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell etc. There's just no originality there.

The graphics are kinda meh with Jedi Survivor looking so much better. And the stealth is laughable. Stealth takedowns consist of Kay just punching people in the head to knock them out. Even enemies who are wearing helments are knocked out this way.

At the end of this let's play we are given a choice and I am curious to know just how much it will affect the story or if it even will!

Anyways, here is part 1 of my Star Wars: Outlaws gameplay!

Sort:

Watched a big of gameplay and wasn't really inspired. Felt like just any other game. AAAA lol

It's just really meh. I'm hoping the story picks up some more but I don't think it is! I dont think it would be a bad nab for $20 bucks and it's not as bad as the Saints Row Reboot but its just more of the same from modern day Ubi.

Outlaws comes after Jedi Survivor, right? In that case, I don't know how the graphics and everything looks a lot better in Jedi Survivor as we normally try to make the latest ones better.

Outlaws takes place between episode 5 - 6 and Survivor takes place during 9 BBY before the events of Episode 4. Their canonicity can be argued because Outlaws and the Jedi: Fallen Order/Survivor games are made by two different companies. Respawn is responsible for Jedi while Ubisoft is responsible for Outlaws.

Even still graphic wise Outlaws is way behind AC Odyssessy which is another UBI game that came out in 2018 (IIRC)

That says Ubisoft got lazy while working on Outlaws or maybe they just made it cause they needed to.

hahaha buying a bad game to know how bad it is xD that reminds me of one I played a long time ago on the ps2 is definitely something I would do :)

It's amazing how almost all of these games are the same. I've seen gameplay of this one and I guess many people have noticed it, but even when you jump over the rooftops or use some rope to climb to a high place, it's like watching an Assasins Creed. You could put a tunic on the girl, change the title, touch 4 things in the story and it's probably an AC in space.

NGL, but it pretty much is. I mean the combat is 100x worst and that goes for the stealth also but it feels like someone wanted to make a knock off of AC but with a star wars name.
