Nintendo Switch Online Adds New GBA Game

Nintendo Switch Online has received a new update that adds Wario Land 4 to its catalog. Nintendo Switch Online gives players access to various titles from consoles such as the NES and SNES, as well as features such as online play, save data cloud and special offers.

The available GBA games on Nintendo Switch Online bring players some of the most beloved titles in the portable's history. One of them is The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, a highly praised adventure released in 2005 in which Link must save Hyrule from destruction with the help of Ezlo, a talking bird-like hat who helps with advice and background information. Another classic GBA title available on Nintendo Switch Online is Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, a game released in 2004 in which most of the story takes place in the Mirror World. This time, the Nintendo Switch Online received a new update that added Wario Land 4 to the lineup of Game Boy Advance games subscribers can access. Released in 2001, Wario Land 4 got a version for Nintendo 3DS in 2011. Considered one of the best Wario games, the platform sees the famous villain travel to the Golden Pyramid after learning of a rumor about a legendary treasure hidden inside. One of the main features is the reactions, which Wario uses to advance in the game. These include Flat Wario, who, after being hit by a piston, can enter small spaces. When he eats apples thrown by a Ringosuki, he transforms into Fat Wario, a form invulnerable to enemy attacks.

For gamers who don't yet have Nintendo Switch Online, the service can be subscribed to for a monthly cost of $20, giving access to NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games. Those who wish can invest $50 a year to play even more games, with titles from the Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Color. Among those are the iconic Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, and the Donkey Kong Land trilogy.

While the current lineup of games is attractive for gamers, the Nintendo Switch has great potential for titles to be added in later updates. After all, there are notable absences, such as Battletoads and Contra, and even the unexpected lack of the main series Pokemon games. Despite this, fans can check out Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, and Pokemon Puzzle League.
