I love games that make me feel intense emotions - whether it's annoyance, anxiety, sadness, excitement... A lot of those can be felt when playing horror games. I remember needing to have someone else watch me play just so I feel 'less alone' when playing horror games and having a camera pointed at me gives the same feeling lol. So I finally was able to force myself to do it.
I think the adrenaline makes me feel alive in that sense so even though I'm absolutely terrified, I still kept playing the games and want to finish them.
Welcome To Kowloon is a horror game in a walking simulator genre that was released just last year. Walking simulator games are often pretty "chill" in a sense that you don't have other challenges like killing an enemy or solving puzzles with a time limit. Instead, you just explore the area and maybe solve a few puzzles here and there and learn the story.
We start as a student who opted for cheap housing. Well, of course, cheap enough to have a lot of disadvantages.
We find ourselves in the walled city of Kowloon which was apparently based in a real city in China (at the time) which was also the densest place in the world before it got demolished in 1994.
I kept mispronouncing the city in the video despite knowing how to properly pronounce it lol.
There were already a few jumpscares at the beginning of the game which just consists mostly of loud noises and some random subtle appearances of 'residents'.
While looking for our landlady, we find some errr reasons to just gtfo there. Apparently, we've been scammed... so the goal changed from searching for the landlady to finding ways to leave the place.
Our first jumpscare happened... T_T
The big bummer here was that I was using a noise suppression filter by NVIDIA Broadcast and I didn't know it filtered out my screams. So I sounded stupid hahah and I only found out after recording. Apparently it is an ongoing problem for streamers especially with high pitched voices/sounds like high excitement and such. It is a great tool as it is very effective of filtering out the noise in my fan but apparently not good if you're gonna record stuff like this.
We then have to look for items to help us escape.
The jumpscares were very effective cos they would appear when you LEAST expect it. I mean who would expect to get jumpscared by looking at a picture frame??? The scares would also not appear when you expect it, making you on high alert all the time.
One of my complaints was how the door was made haha. Like it would just swing but won't also close. Sometimes it blocks your way since it won't open or close properly but thankfully there was only one chase scene in the game so that doesn't really affect you that much. :P
The game gets pretty dark as well that sometimes I get delayed with my reactions cos I only realize the scares late lol. They are really good with keeping you scared and I was tense all the time. What I hate as well was the random loud noises haha.
Finally after being able to get out, we learn the story of Kowloon and the game ends there...
I enjoyed the game despite it mostly jumpscares. I think it was fun exploring the place despite the darkness. At least the flashlight has no battery limits or something like other games which could make it a real challenge. The story is also really creepy especially when you find out what also happened in the city of Kowloon in real life.
I had no idea you also love playing games but now I love you even more haha. Always happy to find another girl gamer!
You can be my other half as I hate both horror games and movies, lol. Gave you a follow on this account too as well as subbed on your YouTube channel from mine, which is Doi Lupi :)
Hahah that's the most I am interested in at the moment, although I play some other games too but I'm not good at them cos I keep on jumping from one game to another lol. Thank you! I subscribed as well :D
Very cool idea for a horror game. I watched a few Youtube videos about this place in the past and thought to myself that it could make a great horror movie or game. I can't imagine what it must have been like living there. Never tried the game myself so it was fun watching some of the gameplay. Looking forward to seeing more horror gameplay in the future :D
Apparently this place is the inspiration for a lot of Cyberpunk stuff like games. Stray's place was inspired of Kowloon which made sense why it also reminded me of Stray lol. I also can't imagine myself living in such cramped area with little to no sunlight and windows and with a lot of crimes happening as well.
I enjoyed playing these short games and I realized I can accomplish more playing these than the ones with longer stories haha
There's a ton of these walking simulator type horror games but after playing a few of them they do kind of start feeling the same. Some of them can be really good though. This one looked like one of the good ones with a super creepy environment.
lol the jumpscare on the picture was a bit weird
Yeah it was and very unexpected. XD

The screenshots are phenomenal, this game is very night freddy style, what a good post, can you develop content about a warzone type game?
Ohh I haven't played Five nights but I guess it is. Hmm, not a big fan of those games. I had one game that I really liked before although I didn't really practice that much as it was already dying when I started playing but it was Dirty Bomb and now it's dead. There are only a few players left but the servers are so far away from me that it makes me have 300 ping lol which isn't worth it lol. I started playing Titanfall and I enjoyed it so far but I'm not sure if I'd like to record gameplays of those as I'm also not that good with my aim haha
You made this game more fun to play
Thank you! lol
Lol I didnt recognize you when I saw the Avatar and the the headset I was like wait a min hild on until fully open the profile jajjaja, didnt know you have a gaming account, cool, I never had enough patience for this type of games, its the kind of games you like to watch but not to play 😅✌️
Hahaha yeah I created this account a few months ago. Yeah some people just like to watch. In my case I like the ones like these who are on the shorter side of gameplay but games like Animal Crossing, Sims, or anything else that require your commitment just doesn't work on me. What's your type of games?
Yeah I cant with those long type of games, Im more into racing games mostly Assetto, got a cheap logitech G29 setup that I take for a spin from time to time, the casual gaming night ✌️
Damn nice! I'm not into driving or racing games (in fact I don't know how to drive haha) but that looks really fun. No need to go to arcades for that haha
Very cool game. But I wonder if you already tried to play Slenderina or Granny or are you familiar with that both?
Haha those times. Yeah I played both in college. It was scary but fun playing them with friends. :D
Streamer? Soon I will be also.
