Coming soon to Arcade Colony is the Casual Shooter Hyper Rail Blaster.
With its smooth gameplay provided by the Unity Engine just like Moon Karts, there is a game which is already delivering the gameplay.
With features such as a High Score and the incorporation of NFTs to come. There are plenty of rewards for players who enjoy a more casual game with a combination of classic gameplay elements alongside the revolutionary Web 3.0 rewards on offer within the Hive ecosystem.
I managed to get some play time with Hyper Rail Blaster and it is a more-ish shooter which needs little introduction at all. The gameplay is incredibly simple and intuitive. The smooth, and limited gameplay requirements mean that it is easily playable on a wide range of computers requiring very little more than a basic internet connection.
Looking through the White Paper, it is clear the game is still in the very early stages before being available but it is obvious why it should belong on the Arcade Colony. The creators of the game are request an allocation of 15 million Colony Tokens over 5 years to be given as rewards to players.
How will it be balanced?
With playthrough's being limited by Quark - the ingame energy token - players will have the first three games free and then each run of the game play will cost an additional Quark token.
Quark tokens are purchasable using Credits or Script using the Colony shop. While the exact numerical information is subject to change, according to the WhitePaper, the concept remains the same. This is a Play2Earn game with great potential with a team such as Invennium - the creators of Splinterlands behind it - there is much success to be had.
How will the Rewards work out?

At present, the rewards are based on the following formula
Rshares = (GameScore) x (WavesDefeated)^n
Game Rewards = ColonyStakingMultiplier X PoolBalance X Rshares / (TotalRshares2Week+Rshares)
GameScore will be score at the end of game.
WavesDefeated is how many waves that were defeated in the game.
With this in mind, it is important to suggest that early staking of Colony tokens to be a crucial aspect of earnings. Having read the White Paper and looking at the calculations above, Colony token staking is as important as SPS is to the Splinterlands reward systems.
While this is not financial advise it is something to consider if you wish to earn in Hyper Rail Blaster.
Will there be a Leaderboard?
The short answer is Yes there will be.
There will be an All-Time Leaderboard which will record the highest score within a 30 day month. That All-Time score will be rewarded with 50% of the Jackpot reward pool. Whilst the All-Time score remains that person would continue being rewarded on a periodic basis - which at the time of writing appears to be monthly.
Main Leaderboard will be in effect with the top 25 players or the top 100 players every 5 days based on their standing in the rankings. The leaderboard will be reset every 5 days. Many decisions regarding leaderboards seem to be ongoing and are due to be decided upon feedback but the above rewards are shared within the White Paper.
Overall, the game feels polished and smooth. Personally, I think there is plenty here to celebrate and the simplicity of the game and it's all around intuitiveness is what is a real selling point. I'd be interested to see how the NFT element of the game becomes incorporated but for now, it is a game I am interested in playing more of.
