Greetings after a long break, are you feeling the coming cold, my people? We all need to be together and cooperate to survive this cold. Welcome to a new episode of Frostpunk!
In the previous episode, a new radical community emerged. But the misery is growing, and I need to find a solution soon. I keep exploring new places, but I don't know how much of a solution that will be. The good news is that I discovered the Abandoned Dreadnought and I will be able to build a colony there. Of course, it won't be easy.
We pick up where we left off, my first task is to continue exploring the rest of the map. I'm going to explore the graveyard and what I expect to find there are materials and coal.
My heat stamps are very low and I need to ask the community for them. The New Londoners will help me with that. They think that the heat stamps will be used wisely by me, the ruler. I'll do my best, boys!
People get sick because I can't give them enough shelter. This means a loss of labor force. The labor force I have now is barely enough. I need to solve the problem of shelter, food supplies and goods as soon as possible. In short, everything I could have is now a problem!
You shouldn't waste a single moment in this game, but sometimes you forget that when you are dealing with problems. I need to pass a law on epidemic prevention. Or rather, present it to the parliament.
I know that assisted quarantine is a better option, but it will increase the amount of housing needed per person. I can't afford that when I have an ongoing housing problem right now. Instead I will introduce the contagious badge, which will increase tensions. Sick people will be forced to wear a badge so that everyone knows they are sick. I know it's embarrassing, but for now I have to do it.
It would be great to have 300 pre-produced supplies at the ready, but if I build an outpost here, the cost of reconnaissance, the number of teams needed for reconnaissance, will be reduced. I should think in the moment, but in this game it's much more useful to think ahead.
I found exactly what I wanted in the Dreamers mine! I'm going to build an outpost here and I'll get 200 supplies per week, which is a real lottery. It will make up for my material shortage in a big way.
The weather has warmed up a bit and I've solved most of the problem with my newly built outpost. Now the only resource I'm running low on is food. I will solve that by building a food zone.
Now that I have stabilized all my resources, I can start the colonization process on the Battered Dreadnought. This will mean a slight delay in reconnaissance because I'm sending 20 reconnaissance teams there.
Finally, some good news! A child is happy to be weaving yarn. At least she thinks she's contributing to society and it's better than freezing on the street. I agree with her. Go girl!
Now it's time to give back what I've taken. I need to keep in touch with the New Londoners community so I don't have to keep promising when I vote in the council.
Some out-of-work families don't have access because I've made basic necessities affordable. The Yilmazes are telling people it's their fault they can't find work. I'm not that ruthless. I'm going to allocate funds to those who need them. This will make the paid basic needs law less effective, but I don't want people to be deprived of the most basic things. This could lead to rebellion in the future.
Speaking of riots, I'd better pass a law to prevent that. If there is a protest in the city, the guards will be able to intervene and put it down. If we lived in a perfect country this wouldn't be necessary, but right now we are trying to survive in -40 degrees.
I'm looking into Pathfinder scouts so that they can go into more difficult terrain without risk. This will reduce the threat level of the terrain. Right now, as you know, I can't go everywhere, some places are deadly and some places are dangerous.
People rightly refuse to wear badges when they are sick. They're going to start a vote in the council to overturn this law. This is the first time in this game that I have been guided by the council, by the people.
Sometimes laws have to be passed in the city even if the people don't want them. I'm again negotiating with the New Londoners community so that I can steer the vote. I'm going to introduce the City Development Activities law that they want. I don't know if it's the best option, but it will allow me to have extra pre-production materials. That's a good thing.
I think we've made enough progress for today, I've provided enough shelter for people in this department and we've moved on to the storage phase in terms of food, pre-produced materials and goods. We used to consume the products we had in storage and they were almost running out.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to share your thoughts with me in the comments. I don't want to leave this series unfinished, together we will bring peace to the city! Take care and stay warm :)
❄️🔥 This leadership simulation amazes me more and more every time! Being forced to enforce the ‘contagious badge’ law in a time of resource scarcity... What a tough choice! 😱 Negotiating with the New Londoners while fighting starvation and colonising? A thriller for the movies! 🏭⛏️ And which law would you pass first? Mutiny suppression or basic needs? And the child's happiness of knitting wool warmed my heart, if only solutions were so clear in real life! 🧣✨✨
I need to pass more laws that’s for sure but first I need to convince council. Thanks a lot for stopping by and glad you enjoyed this post 👋
Oh, and I thought it was your home village again :))
Naaah it's Frostpunk time. It's a game which you are trying to maintain a city in very cold weather with limited sources 😂
Hey thanks!
!hiqvote
Thanks for the try 👋
Then this game really doesn’t let you breathe hahah. Just when you solve one problem, three more pop up. That contagious badge idea feels so harsh, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. Hope your city doesn’t riot lol
That's the playstyle of the game. You have to feel the pain and desperation 😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣 intense pain and desperation
The struggle for survival in Frostpunk is real. I mean, managing resources, balancing laws, and keeping people from rebelling is no easy task. Anyway, that child happily weaving yarn, is a rare bright moment in such a harsh world.
Have you ever played this game mate? It’s both enjoyable and frustrating at the same time
What a job you were assigned as leader XD but you are doing a great job, on the other hand, I don't know why while I was reading you, the plot of game of thrones came to my mind, and I just thought Burn them all! and Winter is Coming!
Hmm it’s actually not related to game of thrones since I am the only leader 😂
Nice!
Nice broo
