Greetings from an icy day, as we continue our fight for survival. I hope we can fix something in this episode because we are on the verge of exhaustion in every aspect. The game is stressing me out at this stage lol.
In the previous chapter, we stepped up reconnaissance outside the city and found a food outpost. We brought more people into our city. I passed a law on children and aimed to prevent crime. I researched insulation for houses to help with the heat. I continue to struggle with production.
The first difference of opinion we had was about treatment. The Frozen Ground Dwellers refuse to be examined because they think that things like the flu will no longer be a big problem for our health and will not turn into an epidemic. The Yilmazes and New Londoners say that treatment is important and that we cannot risk our health. I'm on their side on this, and mandatory check-ups should continue.
I said in the previous chapter that we were running out of stocks, but that was just an assumption. Now we are officially out of supplies.
After the insulation of the houses, my next research is the recycling factory because this building will help me with both pre-produced materials and goods. Two of the things I need the most right now.
I realized that I can pass a law on commodities and I will go the way suggested by the Dwellers of the Frozen Lands. The commodities will be more durable and the demand for commodities will decrease per person.
The city continues to grow. One of the biggest problems right now is housing. I need to build 5 housing zones so that people can all stay in houses. This requires a lot of resources, a lot of labor and materials. The needs are increasing as we move forward.
With the housing problem, people started questioning my leadership. Soon it will get colder and if I don't build houses for these people by then, they will freeze to death. I must take action on this as soon as possible.
We discovered the Acuze Hills and I found 300 pre-produced materials there. To get them I will have to disturb the graves of the dead and that will increase the tension, but I need it now, otherwise I may not be able to build houses for the people.
What is this woman talking about? Is she questioning my leadership? I don't know exactly what she's trying to do, but she said some interesting things and talked about the importance of the council. Okay, the council is important, but I'm doing everything I can for you.
Now I get it. The Pilgrims Society is born. This is a community that is opposed to the Yilmazlar and radically defensive about traditions. This screen is very revealing. I can see a lot of things about what I can get if I stay on good terms with them and what laws they want.
I think basic needs should always be free, but we are in a very difficult situation right now and paid basic needs will increase both resource production efficiency and heat stamp revenue. So I have to choose this one, and we can revisit this law in the future when our community is self-sufficient.
The places I can explore on the map are becoming more and more challenging, so I researched the disaster survivor headquarters. This will significantly reduce exploration times and reduce the threat level of the terrain. Once the research is done, I will start exploring more dangerous places.
Misery continues to rise... I need to take action against it. I need to increase supplies and at the same time I need to build a building or a zone that will reduce poverty. There must be something I can research on this.
We've discovered the decrepit Dreadnought. Do you remember this place? We were here in the prologue. Now I think we'll be able to extract oil from here!
There are graves above the oil fields and they ask me what I want to do about it. The survival instinct is above all else. Doing favors for the dead won't get us anywhere. Let's access all the resources.
Increasing the efficiency of resource production is a good idea, but I'd rather build an outpost there. It would be a great relief to get most of my food from the outposts. All I need to do is connect this outpost to the city, but it's too far from the city, maybe I'll think about that later.
It was another adventurous episode. A new community has appeared, we have found a new settlement and we are going to build a colony there, I have met some of the needs for materials and goods. In the next chapter I will try to solve all these problems and hope that the colony construction will be completed. I don't know how long it will take. Thank you for being with me on this adventure, I hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to share your thoughts with me in the comments and take care!
❄️ I felt like I was watching a game I never knew, something survival-themed mixed with a leadership simulation. 🏙️ Resource shortage, the dilemma of disturbing the graves, faction conflicts... I can say that it raised my stress level remotely 😅 The housing crisis and the ‘public questioning’ part felt very realistic 🙃 I probably kept thinking about whether I should or should not decide to explore the cemetery for emergency resources.
I already voted new ecency proposal
The constant struggle, tough decisions and people questioning your leadership makes it look a lot like running a government in real life.
