Hello again from a cold day! You can feel the weather getting colder, can't you? I hope I'm not the only one. Trying to survive on days like these is very difficult. I'm lucky to be writing this post from the warmth of my home, because my people in Frostpunk are struggling even harder.
In the previous episode we made an important decision about how to use the oil, and as a result of that decision we now have a community that loves us very much, and a community that does not support us. We started to transfer resources to our colony because where they live they don't have access to everything. We even connected them with an outpost so that they can get some of their needs from outside the main city.
I need to build a couple of stockpiling centers because right now my warehouses are almost full. You remember the suffering we went through a few episodes ago, right? Still, you have to be cautious because this could be a temporary abundance. We don't know how much resources we'll need when the storm comes.
I have to collect heat stamps from both the Indomitable and the New Londoners, even though it's bad for my relationships. I'm amazed at how fast this resource runs out. Sometimes I think I have just enough, but then I build a few buildings and there's nothing left. Because as I said in the first chapters, it's used for research, building and other things.
Now I need to start developing the generator. So that in emergencies I can use the excess heat capability to keep my people warm temporarily.
Now I can build the disintegrator horsehead I've been researching. This building will allow me to produce 166 oil in the extraction zone instead of 66 - a massive upgrade. It might even allow me to stockpile some.
We discovered the weather center and interestingly, if we connect it to New London, our population growth rate will increase. Of course I want that, I want more people to live in happiness and peace in my city. Of course I also need more labor force lol.
Before I couldn't get the oil from this oil depot but now that I have improved my exploration team I can safely get that oil. 50000 oil is very valuable to me now.
I think I need to speed up the exploration so I built another pioneer logistics center. This will give me 20 permafrost teams aka exploration teams.
The executive militia law is also important for me right now. There is a group in the community that is radical and doesn't like me. I don't want to use force against them, but if they disrupt the order of society, I will need a militia to fight back. This law will activate a “recruit to the admin militia” action in communities and provide me with a militia.
The coal supply in the city is really running out. I don't know if I can provide heat with oil alone. I will expand the logistics zones and increase the search teams. I have discovered oil before and I can't think of a better way.
A father came and said that his son can't do what he does, which is normal. There is no rule that every son will follow in his father's footsteps. That's why he wants us to bend the law a bit. I will listen to him and bend the law.
I have a backlog of coal and obviously I can't use it without turning it into oil. I researched the scavenger coal liquefier and found out that I can do it. So let's do it or this coal will end up in a landfill.
Huh! Huh! 320 supplies per week is a very good resource, but it's too far from the city, maybe I'll connect it to the city later. For now I'd better keep exploring.
Because I have so many scouts, I'm always discovering a new place on the map. There was an option called the Hobbleton Expedition that could significantly reduce the scouting time and I chose it without looking at the other options.
Influencing community participation in council and voting? That doesn't sound very democratic, but in the end I might need it to protect my community. The people don't always make the best decision, we have seen that many times.
Well, maybe I don't need it now, but I may need to produce more oil in the future, so I'm going to start researching the advanced shredder horsehead now.
I found some more automatons in a place I discovered but I need 300 pre-produced materials to repair them. Unfortunately I don't have that now and won't have it for a while, so I chose to dismantle them and get the 4 cores. I hope this is the right choice.
After we developed the generator, it got incredibly hot everywhere, so hot that people are taking off their clothes and testing the air naked.
What I feared has come true. The white storm is coming. We have to prepare for this storm. I have to store all kinds of resources. During the storm, the demand for heat will be very high and food production will be very low. May God help us!
Let's end this chapter here because we have a big preparation phase ahead of us. We will save resources for the storm and try to keep our people alive. We don't know what awaits us, but we will soon find out. Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to share your thoughts with me in the comments. Stay warm!
Increasing oil production from 66 to 166... What a big leap! 🚀 But I can imagine the panic when the coal is not enough. 👀 I wonder how the city will recover after the storm? 🤔 The ‘law bending’ detail in the story also seemed very realistic, it reflected human psychology well. ❤️ Another full chapter, I can't wait for the next one! 📖
Thank you so much for your nice comment Bemier. Yeah it was an intense episode. There will be some losses in storm but I hope not much
Nice one incublus, I enjoyed this update on your Frostpunk 2 gameplay. seeing that the city is facing challenges like resource management and preparing for the impending white storm, I think that your decisions, like researching new technologies and managing relationships with different community groups, are crucial to the cities survival. The game's complexity and realism are impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing how you'll navigate the storm and its aftermath. Till then stay warm too🤗
Thanks a lot for your detailed comment. Have you ever played this game or are you interested in games?
Your game looks very exciting and risky. It reminded me of the Game of Thrones series and the Frozen City, where the knights were. I hope to play it when I get my PC. It looks great.
Yeah it reminds Game of Thrones, especially the black gate parts 😂😂 You can check it via Steam or Epic Games
Oh Incubus!! Frost Punk 2!! I haven't played the first one yet, and the reason I want to is because the studio's first game was a turning point for me as a gamer: This War of Mine. I highly recommend it.
!BBH
I already played This War of Mine and even share a series on Hive professor. You should play Frostpunk too it's awesome
Turning coal into oil is a nice trick. Your city is getting stronger before the storm. Good luck with the cold days ahead though
