The mountains of Dragon's Roost reach high into the sky, their peaks tearing at the bellies of passing clouds. Many dragon species have made their homes here among the crags and ledges. They live in relative harmony, away from the nuisance of the two-legged creatures that populate most of Draykh-Nahka. There is one that is different, though. She makes her home deep within the subterranean halls of the mountain range. Other dragons avoid her, and few will speak her name. The dragonborn know her well and have worshiped her for as long as they can remember. She is Agor Longtail, one of the largest red dragons ever to have lived. Twice each year, on the equinox, a host of dragonborn visit the lair of Agor to pay homage to her. They bring tributes, and Agor offers wisdom—a small fraction of her eternal knowledge. On the summer solstice, she leaves the comfort of her mountainous lair and takes to the skies, raining death upon any who have dared to wrong her disciples. On the winter solstice, she visits the Suam, leader of the naga and the Gloridax, to offer counsel regarding governance, economics, the military, and other matters of state. There is no mistaking, however, that Agor could destroy the Grand Consul of the Gloridax with one flaming breath if she so chose.
Wassup fellow Splinterlands battlers? How's your deck-building journey going along? This week's challenge is to share one of your battle strategies. That's quite easy for me to do today because of dragons. Dragons are my strategy. When choosing teams, I usually turn to my dragons first because I feel they are the strongest and win the most. There are times when having some shields is more important and I'll go with the water team, but for the most part, I use my dragons way more than anything else. I'm usually hanging out in the upper Gold and Diamond leagues and often see opponents with fully MAXed-out decks. This usually freaks me out and causes me to run to my dragons for help unless I need to do something different like the cowardly act of magic spamming.
This battle was one where you could melee strike from anywhere, heavy mana, and only four slots allowed so I was happy to put some of my mana-heavy dragons to work for the victory. My opponent put out some heavy hitters too, but they relied on melee alone whereas my team had both strong magic and melee attacks. It was helpful having most of my cards at MAX level too. Especially the Chaos Agent who dodged most of the attacks and only ate up one mana point. As far as card collection strategy, I always try to get my Dragon and Neutral cards leveled up first because you can use them almost every time.
Have you picked up your Heloise the Hollow card yet? I doubt you have as there are only four in circulation and none of them are on the market. What do you think about having auctions? The majority of comments I've read here and on YouTube seem to be against it, but I think they're just mad they're missing out. There are only going to be 100 of these so If they get combined there will be even less so I doubt you'll ever run into her in battle unless you are one of the top Champion players. I think it's cool that the game has some ultra-rare cards. How much do you think she'll be once the auction is over and a few are on the market?
