The'BATTLEFIELD' series is a popular series that military enthusiasts are waiting for. Along with its rival Call Of Duty, various stories were discussed in the background of wars of the past, modern times, and the future, and the large-scale battle mode for 64 players, various boarding equipment, and historical records were outstanding enough to become the bible of other war games. .
However, Battlefield V, which is about to be released on the 20th, showed a regression without taking advantage of the series. The official video, which gives a positive evaluation and is being evaluated close to the'worst', is truly a concern, but unfortunately it is not. This game, which was enjoyed by good deeds, had the problems I was worried about, and rather gave a feeling of being less complete.
First, the campaign mode'War Story' follows the horrible single campaign of the previous series. Rather, the overall level has deteriorated. Games based on wars often save large-scale battle scenes as points, but these games are rare. For example, the battles that come to mind during World War II, such as the'Normandy Landing Operation' and the'Moscow Battle', do not appear in this game.
It's even more regrettable because the competing work realistically expressed a massive battle. There are more problems. That is, the mechanism of the stealth system is incomplete. It allows you to freely attack the area at the beginning of the mission, but this function itself does not work properly. Some missions were not properly progressed due to tangled progress, or the mission objectives did not appear due to bugs even though they were progressing normally. The volume is as short as 3 hours.
All missions are done by stealth, and massive battles can only be felt in the early prologue. <Photo Source: Game Capture>
The physics engine is full of bugs. When a leg stone falls, it bounces like a spring and flies away or floats in the air, and it continues to move alone even after it falls. There was also a situation where the leg stone bounced and flew near the enemy, and the mission was forcibly failed without being detected. When an enemy in a vehicle is thrown with a bazooka-like attack, there is an almost 100% probability of a leg stone floating in the air.
Multiplayer modes are also problematic. First of all, Conquest mode has a very poor balance. The biggest problem is the'buff that the losing team will take over the base faster'. It is a system designed to make use of the possibility of a reversal, but thanks to this system, the situation where the winning side is suddenly pushed into the squad occurs in about 25 to 28 minutes of battle. No matter how good the team is running, this situation will occur at the last minute, causing the results to collapse.
It was 166 to 65, but was defeated by a turnaround with 5 minutes remaining. <Photo Source: Game Capture>
There are more problems. The tanks and vehicles of the British and German forces representing World War II were very weak. Since various aspects such as manipulation issues and damage are weak, it frequently happens that they try to catch the infantry and get in the opposite direction. In particular, most of the tanks are quite slow, making it impossible to operate combat with maneuverability. There are many elevation differences and obstacles in the area, so walking around as an infantry can move faster.
Overall evaluation is very bad. Single content is lacking, and multiplayer has too many problems in terms of balance. There are only two camps that appear in the beginning, the British and the German main axis. Of course, it is scheduled to be added, but the initial volume is terrible compared to the expensive price. It feels like you've forcibly released an unfinished game. I don't know why EA is so ruined, but I don't think I can expect this series anymore.
Personally, the worst thing was the screams of women dying everywhere. For reference, there is history that women participated in World War II, but most were rear support. It's just ridiculous to take a step away from the long-established series' features. Former DICE Patrick Söderlund, who made the'Uneducated' remark in question, hit the Embark Studio developer after leaving the company. Nexon invested here. <End>
