Undertale tells us the story of a world in which there are two races, monsters and humans. That at a certain moment a terrible war broke out between them, in which the humans defeated and locked up all the monsters underground. After many years, when a child was exploring a mountain, he accidentally stumbled and fell into this strange place sealed off by humans, starting this great adventure.
Undertale nos cuenta la historia de un mundo en el que existen dos razas, monstruos y humanos. Que en un determinado momento se desató una terrible guerra entre ellas, en la cual los humanos vencieron y encerraron a todos los monstruos bajo tierra. Luego de muchos años, cuando un niño exploraba una montaña, accidentalmente tropieza y cae a este extraño lugar sellado por los humanos, dando comienzo a esta gran aventura.
Something that caught my attention in this game is that the story unfolds in very different ways depending on the actions you take throughout the adventure.
Algo que me llamo mucho la atención de este juego es que la historia se desarrolla de maneras muy distintas dependiendo de las acciones que vayas tomando a lo largo de la aventura.
(Characters)
There cannot be a great story without great characters to accompany it. In the case of Undertale there are not only some, but all the NPC's that we find will be very special and detailed, always having unique interventions and interactions to discover. A good example is the skeleton "Sans", a character that has the mission to capture humans, but when he meets you he prefers to leave all that aside to have fun making jokes of the lowest kind and tell you that he is not really interested in capturing anyone because of his laziness.
No puede haber una gran historia sin grandes personajes que la acompañen. En el caso de Undertale no son solo algunos, sino que todos los NPC's que encontramos serán muy especiales y detallados, siempre teniendo unas intervenciones e interacciones únicas por descubrir. Un buen ejemplo es el esqueleto "Sans", un personaje que tiene la misión de capturar humanos, pero que al encontrarse contigo prefiere dejar todo eso de lado para divertirse haciendo bromas de la mas baja calaña y decirte que en realidad no le interesa capturar a nadie debido a su pereza.

The fighting system is one of the elements that make this game so special, whether we are exploring, or finding a boss, the game will present us with different battles like any other RPG. However the big difference is that Undertale will depend completely on you, whether you get hurt or not. Driving in several directions a small red heart you will have to avoid all types of attacks that will be made against you in real time. All the monsters that you find, will have completely unique and particular attacks. In each battle, you will have the option to choose between fighting the enemies or interacting with them. In other words, you can choose to mercilessly murder every enemy you encounter, or go down the path of peace and find other ways out through fun acts and interactions. It's because of this peculiar option that the game doesn't require you to spend hours leveling up, in fact, if we wanted to, we have the option of not inflicting damage on anyone and finishing the game with level 1, but we will have to use our wits to be able to get through each battle without using force.
El sistema de peleas es uno de los elementos que hacen a este juego tan especial, ya sea mientras estemos explorando, o al encontrar un jefe, el juego nos presentará distintas batallas como cualquier otro RPG. Sin embargo la gran diferencia es que Undertale dependerá completamente de ti, el que recibas daño o no. Manejando en varias direcciones un pequeño corazón rojo deberás esquivar todo tipos de ataques que se harán en tu contra en tiempo real. Todos los monstruos que encuentres, tendrán ataques completamente únicos y particulares. En cada batalla, tendrás la opción de elegir entre pelear con los enemigos o interactuar con ellos. En otras palabras, podrás decidir entre asesinar sin piedad a todo enemigo que encuentres, o irte por el camino pacifista y buscar otras salidas mediante actos e interacciones muy divertidas. Es debido a esta peculiar opción que el juego no requiere que pases horas subiendo de nivel, es más, si quisiéramos, tenemos la opción de no infligir daño a nadie y terminar el juego con nivel 1, pero deberemos utilizar nuestro ingenio para poder sobrepasar cada batalla sin utilizar la fuerza.

The graphics are quite simple and make reference to the Super Nintendo game Earthbound, this is because its creator Toby Fox is a great fan of this saga to such an extent that one of his past projects was an Earthbound Halloween hack which was highly praised. Personally, I think that the graphics are not the most important thing in a game, I'm not saying that they are not relevant, but in my opinion they fulfill a function, which in these circumstances is to deliver or show us the experience that the game seeks to transmit and in the case of Undertale, its graphics fulfill this mission perfectly.
Los gráficos son bastante simples y hacen referencia al juego Earthbound de Super Nintendo, esto es debido a que su creador Toby Fox es un gran admirador de esta saga a tal punto que uno de sus proyectos pasados fue un hack de Halloween de Earthbound el cual fue muy elogiado. Personalmente, creo que los gráficos no son lo más importantes en un juego, no digo que no tengan relevancia, pero para mi opinión estos cumplen una función, que en estas circunstancias es entregarnos o demostrarnos la experiencia que el juego busca transmitir y en el caso de Undertale, sus gráficos cumplen con esta misión perfectamente.

I left the best feature of this game to the end, and that is that in truth, Undertale's music is a total masterpiece. The songs, are very precise in the situations we are presented with and create a very special atmosphere, combining sounds from video games with real instruments. We are shown a repertoire of very funny songs that can achieve all kinds of emotions throughout the adventure. Whether it is crossing a quiet and friendly village, or fighting an epic battle against a very powerful chief, Undertale manages to fit their music in a masterful way. Being a lover of video game music, I can safely say that it is a first class soundtrack and it is very likely that several of these songs will remain stuck in your mind for a couple of days.
Dejé la mejor característica de este juego para el final, y es que en verdad, la música de Undertale es una total obra maestra. Las canciones, son muy precisas en las situaciones que se nos presentan y crean una atmósfera muy especial, combinando sonidos de videojuegos con instrumentos reales. Se nos demuestra un repertorio de canciones muy divertidas que pueden lograr todo tipo de emociones a lo largo de la aventura, ya sea al cruzar por un tranquilo y amigable pueblo, o al luchar una épica batalla contra un jefe muy poderoso, Undertale logra calzar su música de una manera magistral. Siendo un amante de la música de videojuegos, puedo decir con total seguridad que es una banda sonora de primera clase y es muy probable que varias de estas canciones queden atascadas en tu mente por un par de días.
One last aspect worth mentioning from Undertale, is to see it break the fourth wall between the game and us in very bright ways, but that is something you will have to experience personally. The real magic of this game is to be able to fully engage us in a wonderful experience, becoming us, the players, part of it. If you are looking for a game that intrigues you, amuses you, and makes you go through a mountain of emotions then Undertale is the game you were looking for.
Un último aspecto digno de mencionar de Undertale, es ver cómo rompe la cuarta pared entre el juego y nosotros de maneras muy brillantes, pero eso es algo que ustedes tendrán que experimentar personalmente. La verdadera magia de este juego es lograr envolvernos por completo en una maravillosa experiencia, volviéndonos a nosotros, los jugadores, parte de ella. Si buscas un juego que te intrigue, divierta, y te haga pasar por una montaña de emociones entonces Undertale es el juego que estabas buscando.
