Browser-based games, in my opinion, are a relic of the past. I first started using a PC for entertainment purposes back in 1996 and I loved my old Apogee games like Monster Bash and Wacky Wheels, and there was Jazz Jackrabbit which my uncle introduced me too and I loved it. I used to open Microsoft Encyclopedia Encarta and play the games hidden inside that. 😆
Even back then I didn't really play browser based games. I loved Neopets in the early 2000's. And there was something called Kings of Chaos and Utopia. Those were the only browser-based games I played. I dabbled in Facebook Games for maybe half a year before I got bored of them. 😆
Splinterlands was the first "recent" browser based game I played... and I stopped playing it because it was an automated card game you play in a browser. WoooOOoooOooo, riveting. I guess I'm still playing Rising Star, but I wouldn't really consider that a game, to be honest. Set mission and go. ~ Can't wait for "real" games to become entwined with our blockchain. xD
Oh sorry for replying late XD, I had a problem with my connection. And yes, you are right, they are completely a relic, in fact, there are still millions of people hooked on browser games, only there will come a point where they will cease to exist, or so I think.
Facebook games were very good, I really still don't understand why they disappeared :( I was very happy hahaha.
