Yesterday I set up a PlayStation 4, with the intention of getting on and playing co-op Little Big Planet 3, with Aimee, but she fell asleep shortly after Kaleb did, so we never got around to playing it.
I didn't want to play it alone, so I decided to leave it until she returns. Currently, I have Kaleb up in mine and am going to keep him here for the next few days, maybe a week, while she's back home getting some rest, and getting some stuff done.
I got PSN, and downloaded from their fairly large catalogue of games.
Police Simulator:
With the help of my friend who made the switch to PlayStation about a year or so ago, I downloaded a bunch of - mainly multiplayer - games.
This was one he recommended because it sounded fun and after I got Kaleb to bed I hopped on.
Essentially you're a cop who goes around writing people fines, and detaining anyone who is caught breaking the law. You even go around monitoring parked cars.
You write tickets, and if you're correct you get good cop points, and if you're false you get bad cop points. Too many bad cop points and you lose the game.
It's fun... not because it's a fun game, but because me and my friend were just having such a laugh going around annoying people.
Gaming is less about the game you're playing, and more about the company. Last night was essentially the first time in a long time that I've had a lot of fun while playing something.
This was the second game we had a go of.
Biped:
So, this game is essentially QWOP, but not as difficult.
This is a two-player puzzle platformer type of game, which has a fairly bright art style. The challenge of this game is the puzzles you face, which need to be accomplished by both players working together and communicating.
For example, there are bridge sections where the path turns from pink to blue as corresponding player steps. It can be a challenge, and after about 4-5 levels we had the hang of it, but it continued to get difficult as the game went on.
As mentioned, it posed a nice challenge, but above that, it was a fun game to play and the art style was bright and cheerful.
To finish off the night we had a go of this one.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure:
I've always liked the LBP games, and this is the last one they released, before switching to Astrobot, which is another game by the same developers.
I'd never heard of Astrobot before my mate mentioned it last night when playing the Sackboy game.
This game was a good bit of fun, but it didn't pose any challenge to either of us, so we were just floating through the levels as we chatted and joked around.
The first game - as far as I remember - had a fair amount of a challenge to them, more so when it came to 100%-ing, the levels, rather than the levels themselves. But, there were a few tricky ones.
This one, on the other hand, seemed to be easy. The only time I died in the game - for example - was when I rolled off the map by not paying attention to what I was doing.
For the first night, it was fairly eventful, and I played more games in one night on that console than I have all year on the Xbox One.
I have a few other games downloaded and ready to play tonight, one of which is Ghost of Tsushima, which is one I've wanted to get into for so long now.
I loved Biped, I and @bemier played it and had a nice time (mostly, minus the screaming and fighting on whose fault it was lol). However, we never finished it. We should get back to it and get it done. What do you think, @bemier?
It was so much fun, and yeah, we had some of those moments ourselves haha
We're going to get back into it and see if we can complete it. I'm not sure exactly how long it is, but I'm sure it wouldn't take us too long.
