RE: Did Half Life really revolutionize the history of video games? // ¿Half Life realmente revolucionó la historia de los videojuegos? (ENG/ESP)

Was pretty nostalgic reading this. This game and the original Unreal are what got me interested in FPS games.

Sort:

Half-life is what got me interested in PC gaming.. there was no consol game until counter strike came out in a dulled down version, and then half-life episode 1 finally came out for consol a few years after it originally released on PC..

Seeing my cousin play half-life: One for the first time with the new graphics was fckin mind blowing, and so much hype!!!

In some places in Half Life, I used to get scared 🤣
It was so realistic back then!

Seriously!! It's crazy how spoiled we are with new graphics and then you go back and look at what you used to think was amazing, and it looks like absolute garbage! Haha maby it's cos my eyes are older now and have suffered lots more abuse than just looking at the sun for a bit every now and then..

bro, it's super satisfying to read about how thanks to Half Life there are people who have been attracted to gaming per se. I think it's brutal and completely epic, it's amazing what Half Life achieved in its time and that it's still going strong today, waiting for new installments. I'm hopeful that they will not leave the saga abandoned.

Uh, Unreal Tournament, that game was a vice for me. They're really good games, and I'm glad to hear that Half Life got you interested in a whole genre.

Before Unreal Tournament there was Unreal- pretty similar to Half Life!
