As I mentioned before, I'm quite a fan of those arcade games from the 80s and 90s. Actually, I'm quite a fan of the culture of those years. I consider it was a great era in many aspects.

Since last time, I did very well talking about one of these games, I decided to do it again. This time I would like to talk about one of my favorite games in the arcade world. The Simpsons.
Ya que la vez pasada, me fue muy bien al hablar de unos de estos juegos, decidí volver a hacerlo. En esta oportunidad quisiera hablar de uno de mis juegos favoritos en el mundo de las máquina árcade. The Simpsons.
This game was created in 1991 by the developer Konami. It is about Mr. Burns and his henchmen stealing a very valuable diamond. When they are escaping they have the bad luck to collide with the Simposons family. In that accident, the diamond falls into Maggie's mouth. To which Mr. Smithers rushes to escape and decides to do so by kidnapping the baby with the diamond. Basically, the objective of the game is to rescue Maggie through different scenarios and overcoming different bosses.
Este juego fue creado en el año 1991 por la desarrolladora Konami. Trata sobre que el Sr. Burns junto a sus secuaces roban un diamante muy valioso. Cuando están escapando tienen la mala suerte de chocarse con la familia Simposons. En ese accidente, el diamante cae en la boca de Maggie. A lo que el Sr. Smithers se apresura para escapar y decide hacerlo secuestrando a la bebé con el diamante. Básicamente, el objetivo del juego es rescatar a Maggie a través de distintos escenarios y superando diferentes jefes.
Normally, when asked about a Simposons game, The Simpsons Hit & Run is usually mentioned. That GTA-style game that came out for Game Cube, PlayStation 2 and Windows. But I mention this arcade machine game. Which is my favorite based on this popular series.
Normalmente, cuando se pregunta por un juego de los Simposons, se suele nombrar a The Simpsons Hit & Run. Aquel juego estilo GTA que salió para Game Cube, PlayStation 2 y Windows. Pero yo menciono este juego de máquinas árcade. Que es mi favorito basado en esta popular serie.
I love this game for several reasons. First for its aesthetics, I love the design of the scenery. Its art and colors are impressive. Besides, they take us back to the series itself. We have iconic locations like the streets of Springfield, Moe's tavern, the nuclear power plant, etc.
Este juego me encanta por varias razones. Primero por su estética, me encanta el diseño de los escenarios. Su arte y sus colores son impresionantes. Aparte que nos remontan a la mismísima serie. Tenemos lugares icónicos como las calles de Springfield, la taberna de Moe, la planta de energía nuclear, etc.
Its mechanics are very good for its age. We can hit, hit while jumping and if we press both buttons at the same time, we can use a special attack. That varies with each character. In addition to that we can interact with different objects within each scenario. For example, in the cemetery we can throw a skull. In the tavern we can throw bottles and chairs. In the forest we can throw rocks.
Sus mecánicas son muy buenas para los años que tiene. Podemos golpear, golpear mientras saltamos y si presionamos los dos botones a la vez, podemos usar un ataque especial. Que varía con cada personaje. Sumado a que podemos interactuar con distintos objetos dentro de cada escenario. Por ejemplo, en el cementerio podemos lanzar un cráneo. We also have different secondary characters that give us different weapons. Like Milhouse who gives us a hammer or Nelson who gives us a slingshot.
También tenemos distintos personajes secundarios que nos otorgan diferentes armas. Como Milhouse que nos da un martillo o Nelson que nos da una honda.
What I liked most about this game is that it allowed you to play it with up to 4 players at the same time. Something that suited me and my brothers very well. We could all play at the same time. It was really funny how 6 hands were trying to play with the same keyboard. 😅 This because we were using an emulator, we were not lucky to play it on the arcade machine.
Lo que más me gustaba de este juego es que te permitía jugarlo hasta con 4 jugadores a la vez. Cosa que a mí y a mis hermanos nos venía muy bien. Ya que podíamos jugar todos a la vez. Era muy divertido como 6 manos intentaban jugar con el mismo teclado. 😅 Esto porque utilizábamos un emulador, no tuvimos suerte de poder jugarlo en la máquina árcade.
Best of all, when playing with more people, you had the possibility to use secret attacks. When we put two characters together, a special mechanic was enabled. For example, if Homer and Marge got together, they could form a human wheel and run over. If Bart and Lisa got together, they would hold hands and run, to ram.
Lo mejor de todo es que al jugar con más personas, tenías la posibilidad de usar ataques secretos. Cuando juntamos a dos personajes, se habilitaba una mecánica especial. Por ejemplo, si Homer y Marge se juntan, pueden formar una rueda humana y atropellarar. Si Bart y Lisa se juntan, se agarran de la mano y corren, para embestir.
Finally, I would like to mention that the amount of characters that appear in this game is incredible. In the course of it, we can see a wide variety of them. Like Sideshow Bob, Skinner, Barney, Martin Prince and many more. All in all, it is a great underrated game.

Love this game! i played this game alot in the arcade machines on my city and then try to emulate on the pc but i never find it! is one of the most amazing beat em ups games from the simpsons that never realised. Amazing memories with this game! thanks for share

You should find out because it is not difficult to play it on PC. You can download the emulator called MAME and then download the game room.

You are right; this is the best Simpsons game ever. The gameplay and visual styles were really nice. I had the chance to play it at the arcades. What wonderful memories. Awesome post, my friend!
How envious I am of you. I couldn't play it on the arcade machine. I did it from an emulator on my computer with Windows 98 xd
