Haha yes, I remember this naruto, I liked to play with Rock Lee releasing his gates, it increases his speed and adds some fun moves to use against the opponent, but still my favorite is the whole Story Mode part, sometimes it's not even for the battle but the way it manages to summarize the Anime in some parts, I remember I hadn't even watched a big part of the Anime, but in the game I already knew who Akatsuki was.

I find it funny that at least in Revolution 3, the story only gets to when Gaara gets rescued...but there are characters from two arcs ahead of that point (EX2 did cover the reunion with Sasuke and EX3 the ordeal with Hidan and Kakuzu); definitely great that they kept them though. I have seen a few other games omitting characters on localized versions because the anime hadn't caught up to where they originally made it.
For one exams, Zatch Bell Mamodo Battles on GC had a horse (Ponygon) without a partner and a pair called Bari/Gustav, but that game's Japanese version (which was the SECOND entry there) had Ponygon with his partner from later on in the story and a Movie-exclusive character (though since Bari was long dead by that point, he actually was removed after the first game there).
Another case is Naruto Ultimate Ninja 2 in Japan having a movie/OVA character (Doto Kazahana) being removed from International versions, and Ninja Council 3 for DS having a batch of characters from the end of Sasuke's Retrieval arc (Transformed forms of the Sound 4, Naruto and Sasuke) removed as the anime hadn't caught up to that point. Ninja Destiny 2 also had something weirder with the game using the Shippuden story...except in Europe where they actually modified it to be pre-timeskip instead.
Even though there were some losses from GNT4 to Rev2 (Sound 4 and Third Hokage never were playable overseas), it is cool that Rev3 on the other hand had virtually everyone from the EX series and added improvements. In other words, the localized game actually had more than the Japanese version (aside from story).
And it sure was neat for me to see Shippuden's first story through Revolution 3 as I had never got around to watching Shippuden.
