RE: Vampyr (PC Game Review)

in Hive Gaming5 years ago

Great review! I really enjoyed Vampyr, the dilemma of going the easy way (drinking blood) or being a better man was compelling. I have to say, the game did become too hard for me after a while, so I had to give in and do the evil deed. I did try to limit it as much as possible though.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2. The devs seem to be huge fans of the original, and I'm sure they'll do their utmost to do right by that forgotten gem. Should be out this year, though with the current situation, I won't be surprised if its delayed to 2021.

Started playing Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption again! So many great memories playing that game! Hopefully the new release will be good but have my doubts tbh. At the moment I've got Half Life Alyx to play through :D The headcrabs look huge!

You are playing on VR?!?... That looks really quite scary!

Yeah! I put every game on the highest difficulty to make it last extra long and I must waste half a clip for a single head crab zombie!

Plus I panic when the headcrabs gets ready to pounce hah

The game does really get quite punishing if you stay good... so far, I've only had a few moments of frustration, not quite enough yet to tip me over to being a monster... but there was this one moment when I was considering it!

I'm really hoping Bloodlines 2 will be great... I'm pretty hyped for it (yes yes, the set up for dissapointment...), what they were able to do with the original with the limitations of the time was just mind-blowing, and the setting was nothing that I had ever experienced! Still, I hope they don't dumb it down for the console guys!

I finished the game with minimal bloodthirst, so not at all a monster, but not a saint either.

I expect Bloodlines 2 to be more of a modern game along the lines of The Outer Worlds. They have promised it'll be a deep experience, but of course, the best intentions don't always lead to the best product.
