The Legend of Zelda: BotW – Episode 2: I Believe I Can Fly!

in Hive Gaming3 years ago

Good day to you hive gamers, I am glad to be back with episode 2 of Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: “I believe I can fly”. I am so ready for another series of bad decisions in this game!

IMG_0719.JPG

As a quick reminder if you didn’t had the chance to read my first episode, I started to play the game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Master Mode with the intention to create a series of episodes (gameplay, walkthrough) with adventures and challenges in this game. If you are interested, you can access the first episode at the link below:

Legend of Zelda: BotW - Episode 1: A New Beginning

Now, what was the last thing I’ve done in the first episode? I got my PARAGLIDE! And I can fly. At least, I believe I can fly because if I don’t do it right, it would be a quick game over!

2022050216013600_c.jpg

When you fly in Legend of Zelda, you use your stamina. Airflows and winds affect your flight speed, distance and even the ability to ascend. The more stamina you have, the more you can fly.
There are also tricks you can do in-flight (e.g. cancel paraglider and shoot with the bow a target in slow motion, then reactivate the paraglider). But more we can explore along the way.
In the meantime, I have teleported to the Greater Plateau Tower close to the edge of the Greater Plateau. I am here and about to leave this area and head towards “Impa” from the main quest “Seek Out Impa” – Is going to be a long journey ahead.

2022050215594500_c.jpg

I have flown straight into a top of a small tower in the Hyrule Kingdom. I don’t want to be wrong, but I think that I am across the border of the map I am supposed to be in.

2022050216020400_c.jpg

2022050216020800_c.jpg

2022050216031600_c.jpg

Left and right, up and down around me are monsters and is also night. A swarm of bats attacked me twice, once in the small tower and another one after I got down. The bats are really easy to defeat and collect a few things from them.

2022050216032900_c.jpg

2022050216040600_c.jpg

2022050216041700_c.jpg

2022050216050700_c.jpg

But of course, I am taking through the ruins in this valley. It’s time for another bad decision.

I got a rusty shield and an ancient screw. Not bad but is better for me to go stealthy around because I have no idea what’s sleeping inside the ruins. And a second rusty shield (3 defence).
2022050216073200_c.jpg

I’ve seen on a hill nearby a few shiny stuff – I think those are some sort of mushrooms which will prove useful for some cooking. Along the way, I am going to check it out.

2022050216094900_c.jpg

I found a flint on the ground. With flint and wood, you can create fire and little cook, or better said to sleep and get past the night.

2022050216103100_c.jpg

You can cook in a cauldron some complex food and potions with effects or throw ingredients in the fire to quick cook, for some extra hearts’ recovery but no additional effects. I am not going to cook this way as the best way is into a cauldron.

I made the fire with wood and flint, and you must hit the flint with a metal sword or spear to spark it. Now is time to sleep until morning.

2022050216124600_c.jpg

2022050216125500_c.jpg

2022050216131400_c.jpg

Well, some jellies appeared out of nowhere. Jellies are weak, one hit only, even on master mode.

2022050216141400_c.jpg

2022050216141800_c.jpg

2022050216142100_c.jpg

I broke the wooden boxes and barrels around with the Iron sledgehammer and found a lot of apples, a few arrows and a few other things. Nearby, I also found a rusty claymore in the ground with 12 damage.

2022050216150700_c.jpg

2022050216161600_c.jpg

2022050216164500_c.jpg

More wooden boxes and barrels and more rusty weapons on the ground. My inventory is limited, already have my bow inventory full.

2022050216181600_c.jpg

2022050216182600_c.jpg

A quick tip: You have a few types of different inventories: weapons inventory, bow and arrows, shields, armour, materials, food and key items.

The material and foods are very large and I’m not sure there is a limit on how much you can collect in terms of food or cooking. Same with armour is a very large inventory, but the weapons are so limited. Remember the korok seed from the last episode? That would be the best to expand the weapons inv.

No other monsters I found in the ruins, but I can’t really remember where it was the mushrooms I’ve seen at night, on which hill. I am going to look around a bit and at the same time move towards the quest objective and/or the tower for this map.

2022050216222600_c.jpg

I found a cave on my way and in the cave was a possible korok with a seed. It seems like a puzzle and is quite easy. Touch the flowers from one flower to five flowers in order. First the single flower, then the two flowers, three and so on.

2022050216235700_c.jpg

2022050216241900_c.jpg

2022050216244000_c.jpg

And here I found it!

2022050216253700_c.jpg

I climbed to the top of the hill nearby to have a look around. A tower, a few shrines, a lot to explore.

2022050216273400_c.jpg

Near the top of the hill, is a ruin, with a stone in the middle of it. Guess what? Another korok! Now I have three seeds. And a few more jellies. Isn't my lucky day today?

2022050216284500_c.jpg

2022050216285200_c.jpg

2022050216291000_c.jpg

But I’ve seen a shrine nearby. That’s going to be my next destination. Is time to fly there, hehe!

2022050216301000_c.jpg

2022050216304900_c.jpg

That was so easy. I am inside. Let me see what the challenge is going to be!

2022050216311900_c.jpg

The wind guides you - shrine!

2022050216315300_c.jpg

There are wind currents inside, combine them with flying. Inside the chest, I found an amber.

2022050216321400_c.jpg

Now, further down, I’ve already failed to fly correctly and fell into the abyss. Time to try again. Quite easy. A few more currents and you can end this shrine with no stress. But of course, I failed again to get the second chest. The second attempt was… a failure. Well, about seven times (with no joke) I failed until I realised that I must get the main airflow which gets you to the end of the shrine and break from it to fly with speed and to be able to access it.

2022050216333000_c.jpg

2022050216333300_c.jpg

2022050216343600_c.jpg

Guess what. I’ve got a claymore with 20 damage. Until now, this is the strongest weapon I’ve had, and this will offer me some fight chances.

2022050216373000_c.jpg

I’ve finished the shrine and got a spirit orb (1/4)

2022050216393000_c.jpg

After I finished the shrine, I got a dozen of side quests (I think it must do something with all the DLCs from the game).

2022050216400300_c.jpg

2022050216403400_c.jpg

Moreover, I’ve seen some floating balloons and a chest on the platform. Is time for target practice.

2022050216401200_c.jpg

Side note: I’m not sure if I mentioned or not before, but the flying platforms with balloons are available only on Master Mode and they don’t exist in normal mode.

I’ve popped two balloons and got down the chest. You got to be joking me. I just found an Iron Sledgehammer with 32 damage (have the option “attack up +20”). I am going to use it as the main weapon to crack some monsters and not for mining. How lucky can I be?

2022050216423600_c.jpg

2022050216424500_c.jpg

2022050216425600_c.jpg

Even with these two new weapons, I am definitely not able to destroy a camp like this one.

2022050216451900_c.jpg

But now after a quick break (one day), I am ready to cross the bridge. Should I cross it? Should I?

2022050316380100_c.jpg

Of course, I should. Yayy, I met Brigo on the bridge (I don’t even know who Brigo is lol) – He is talking a lot, in special about Guardians (those ancient machines which shoot at you, found near the shrine in the first episode) – and some of them can also move. Too early for this.

2022050316381600_c.jpg

On the right side of the bridge, there is a camp and a floating creep. I feel confident now with three bomb arrows and my new sledgehammer. I think I am going to attack them in full force and blast whoever I can in the water for a quick win.
30 seconds later…

2022050316405100_c.jpg

2022050316411200_c.jpg

2022050316412400_c.jpg

2022050316414300_c.jpg

2022050316415500_c.jpg

Whoa. I actually won it. And not too difficult I might add, but now I have zero bomb arrows.

2022050316435200_c.jpg

And about the loot. Guess what I found?
A throwing spear.
And a new kind of bow which shoots two arrows at once (14x2 damage). That is so great…

2022050316454800_c.jpg

Plus a few more things hehe. I am also going to cook a bit because I need some extra food. The creep from the platform nearly killed me with one shot.

2022050316483200_c.jpg

Anyhow, I took a rest until morning, and I remember the guy on the bridge when he was talking about the guardians, that it may be one active on the left side of the bridge. I am going to confront it!

2022050316492200_c.jpg

If you remember, the only way (at least for now) to defeat a guardian is to perfectly reflect the beam it shoots at you back.

I found a simple creep in the water and I am going to use cryonis to approach and stay above water in case I must go in combat with the guardian. And because of a chest.

2022050316510600_c.jpg

Amber found (cheap). And the guardian was a false alarm. It was dead.

2022050316521400_c.jpg

2022050316522200_c.jpg

2022050316541100_c.jpg

But earlier I found an Octopus balloon from the thing I shoot in the water. You can have fun with it to attach it to things and they will float.

2022050316524600_c.jpg

I also found a buried chest using magnesis. And I got a boomerang. Not bad!

2022050316551600_c.jpg

2022050316552000_c.jpg

2022050316552700_c.jpg

I used the Octo balloon to attach it to the metal chest, it only flipped it over but didn’t float (probably the chest is heavy and I would need more balloons) hehe.

2022050316565000_c.jpg

And here is a stone I could throw away with stasis

2022050316581300_c.jpg

2022050316582500_c.jpg

Well, under the stone is another stone

2022050316583300_c.jpg

And under that stone is a Koroooook!

2022050316583600_c.jpg

Hmm… Two things I’ve seen nearby: A floating platform with a creep on it plus a metal chest and a shrine. I am going to do them both.

2022050316594900_c.jpg

2022050316595300_c.jpg

I also found not one by two chests plus 5 shock arrows in the water. One chest gave me an opal (to sell) but guess what? The second chest gave me a Knight Bow with 26 damage and a quick shot. This thing is a RARITY in this game!

2022050317012400_c.jpg

2022050317015200_c.jpg

2022050317021200_c.jpg

2022050317024600_c.jpg

2022050317025200_c.jpg

2022050317034400_c.jpg

2022050317045100_c.jpg

Side note: The shock arrows will shock someone I shoot. Sometimes, frankly quite often, once shocked, they will drop their weapons. If you collect it, you will defeat the foes with no issues as, of course, they will have no weapons.

Now with the new bow, arrows and the sledgehammer, I am going to attempt to destroy the large camp nearby, which earlier I said that I can’t do it. Now the tide of war shifted in my favour.

One more note, is that on the top of one of the towers, there is a purple (rare) chest.

2022050317063800_c.jpg

2022050317075600_c.jpg

It was quite easy to disarm the foes and steal their weapons, one was left armed by the time I shoot all my five arrows, but I defeated them easily with my sledgehammer. I also defeated the archer and afterwards, the chest was unlocked.

2022050317084100_c.jpg

2022050317095900_c.jpg

2022050317102900_c.jpg

2022050317103000_c.jpg

2022050317103100_c.jpg

Unfortunately, I got only an opal – however, as a note, opals are quite precious and can be sold for some coins.

2022050317120900_c.jpg

In the meantime, I cleaned the camp by destroying all the wooden and metal boxes and I got a bunch of arrows (normal ones) and many many apples.

I am in the nearby forest towards that shrine I observed earlier and there I see another one aha, I thought I am going to finish this quest, this is a sidewalk. There are some fruits and things around the forest and a few small monsters.

2022050317145100_c.jpg

2022050317150500_c.jpg

2022050317151800_c.jpg

2022050317153200_c.jpg

But I see another camp with explosive barrels. Going to take it out.

2022050317172100_c.jpg

Ahaha. They blew themselves up and it was relatively easy to eliminate them, even the elite monster which before was nearly impossible for me to take it out. As long as I have these bows and the sledgehammer, I feel pretty invincible.

2022050317173600_c.jpg

2022050317175400_c.jpg

2022050317183100_c.jpg

Getting up the platform doesn't work by simply climbing up. I have to find another way.

2022050317191100_c.jpg

Hmm.. interesting. I thought I will find a korok there, but I didn’t. Anyway, I managed to get up the tower and thanks to a single metal box I put near the tower, I got there just within the limit of my stamina. I found a chest with 5 bomb arrows.

2022050317204500_c.jpg

2022050317204900_c.jpg

2022050317213600_c.jpg

2022050317222500_c.jpg

2022050317225300_c.jpg

2022050317231200_c.jpg

2022050317231300_c.jpg

I have flown down there to where the camp was on that small platform but nothing interesting, just a single arrow.

It’s night. I saw some fireflies which I managed to collect by approaching them in stealth mode, a few more fruits including a new one, a hearty radish – extremely useful throughout the game – if you cook it, you get temporarily extra hearts.

2022050317255600_c.jpg

2022050317260000_c.jpg

2022050317254700_c.jpg

Just as a reference point, around here I am on the map at this given time and about to do not one but two shrines.

2022050317281800_c.jpg

Well, I’ve tried to swim across the river but the flow is too strong, so I drown.

2022050317285100_c.jpg

2022050317293200_c.jpg

There is another metal chest – well found only an amber in it.

2022050317301400_c.jpg

I crossed well the river using cryonis. Smart move.

2022050317305900_c.jpg

Hmm… interesting. A thunderstorm came and I got struck by lightning.

2022050317315600_c.jpg

2022050317321100_c.jpg

2022050317321200_c.jpg

It appears that if you have a metal bow, weapon and shield on you, equipped, you can get struck by lightning and die instantly. LOL. It even shows you in inventory.

2022050317331800_c.jpg

Anyway, I FOUND A STABLE!

2022050317340300_c.jpg

2022050317342300_c.jpg

I wanted to make an experiment and see that if you drop metal weapons or shields on the ground, will this attract lightning in that point? I think it does. But the storm passed out by then when I decided to do it (minutes later).

2022050317343800_c.jpg

Stables are great places to register your horses after you catch them – yes you can catch and ride wild horses and some are faster or better than the others, also horses have happiness and stamina – There is a whole horse system you must get used to and you can also use horses for fast riding.

There are some NPCs inside. One is talking too much and gave me a side quest (I think it's too early in the game to do it) and the other one is Beedle – A cute NPC selling you bugs and stuff and you can also sell him lots of things, but he likes gemstones (I think he even can give you a better price than a typical NPC). This Beedle thing will travel across Hyrule, therefore, don’t worry, you will find him again, everywhere!

2022050317372300_c.jpg

2022050317374400_c.jpg

2022050317381200_c.jpg

2022050317382400_c.jpg

2022050317360800_c.jpg

Guess what. Thanks, Beedle, I just sold stuff for about 1700 rupes, which is quite a lot in special at the beginning of the game (you can buy nearly a full set with this money) and bought some arrows from him.

2022050317401400_c.jpg

2022050317410100_c.jpg

2022050317412900_c.jpg

2022050317430200_c.jpg

2022050317431000_c.jpg

Also, I would strongly recommend not to sell (which I sold some) the elixir and food parts, because if you make food and elixirs instead, you can sell some of them for a really good price (where for parts you get pennies)

Just as a point, I am actually across the border on another map.

2022050317455600_c.jpg

But now is time for me to do this shrine: Metal connections

2022050317461900_c.jpg

2022050317465200_c.jpg

The idea in this shrine is to use your metal ability (magnesis) and work out the puzzles to pass it. The shrine wasn’t even complicated, I just had to make it complicated lol.

2022050317471000_c.jpg

2022050317521200_c.jpg

Well, moving forward out of the shrine, I think I will slightly explore the area. A small hill, on top of the hill, is a few trees with something nice to shoot in the centre of the largest tree (acron?). Guess what, A KOROK!

2022050317541500_c.jpg

2022050317542400_c.jpg

2022050317542800_c.jpg

2022050317543400_c.jpg

2022050317543700_c.jpg

And I also have seen some wild horses.

I also placed a pin to see if the tower from afar belongs to this map and yes it does. I will not go that way, for now, I think that is a more complex area to get into, in order to climb the tower. For now, I should follow the path of the main quest.

2022050317554800_c.jpg

2022050317560600_c.jpg

2022050317560100_c.jpg

But until then, my last thing, for now, is that I am going to capture a little horse and return to the stable to register it, then I will use this point of start for the next episode.

2022050317574700_c.jpg

Bloody hell… the next couple of screenshots will better describe my pain trying to catch a wild horse (for about 20 minutes), I even shoot them with the bow. I give up for now.

2022050317575800_c.jpg

2022050317583200_c.jpg

2022050317594100_c.jpg

2022050318012800_c.jpg

2022050318013700_c.jpg

2022050318014100_c.jpg

2022050318020300_c.jpg

2022050318025000_c.jpg

Back to the stables, I have made some cooking and got the radish into one recipe for a nice full recovery food plus three extra hearts – that is going to be the best for a very challenging situation. I should keep that food.

2022050318062900_c.jpg

Anyway, a few more things I cooked and also an elixir or two plus some dubious food (failed cooking, restores one heart) and now is evening, time to retire my character for this episode into the stables.

2022050318065600_c.jpg

2022050318054600_c.jpg

2022050318061100_c.jpg

Good night everyone!

2022050318104200_c.jpg

Thank you very much for reading this post, I am again close to three thousand words. In the next episode, I should climb the tower from the quest map to discover it and then head towards the quest point. I hope to see you around and thank you for your appreciation and vote.

Sort:

I had a lot of fun with all the chest and Korok seeds puzzles in this game. Makes me wanna pick it up again. I never found all the seeds.

I am not sure who ever found all the korok seeds, they are sooo many! but seeing a korok always brings me a smile back!
and for the chests, they are everywhere hidden , and so many more on Master Mode!

Yeah I always had chests tracked through the camera and it was beeping all over the place lol
