Sometimes I think that in the video game industry they sell nostalgia, lately there have been many colleagues talking to me that they return to a game trying to feel or remember the moment when they tried it a long time ago, be it in childhood, adolescence or adulthood. However, after analyzing the matter very well, I can say that it is not so, I think that the industry understands our psychology and plays with that in its favor, but we cannot deny that in each good game there are unforgettable moments, the adventures transcend more than the screen and the controls, that is something that for obvious reasons we want to repeat. So, the increasingly large video game industry does not sell nostalgia, it sells epic, unique and unforgettable moments.
A veces pienso que en la industria de los videojuegos venden nostalgia, últimamente han sido muchos colegas hablándome que regresan a un juego intentando sentir o recordar el momento de cuando lo probaron tiempo atrás, sea en la niñez, adolescencia o adultez. Sin embargo después de analizar muy bien el asunto, puedo decir que no es así, creo que la industria entiende nuestra psicología y juega con eso a su favor, pero no podemos negar que en cada buen juego hay momentos inolvidables, las aventuras trascienden más allá de la pantalla y los controles, eso es algo que por obvias razones queremos repetir. Entonces, la cada vez más grande industria de los videojuegos NO vende nostalgia, vende momentos épicos, únicos e inolvidables.
In my childhood, I had two older brothers (I still have them), they were in their teens and were very active in the urban scene. At my house we had an American Nintendo, one of those gray ones, we waited for my parents to fall asleep to turn on the TV and wake up playing, on several occasions they caught us red-handed and that led to several punishments, then they hid the computer or the cables, or the controls. For those who don't know, the computer was an adapter that served as a bridge between the Nintendo and the TV. Despite all the punishment and the bad vibes, the house was full of life and the family felt united.
Telling the adventures and moments lived with this machine would take me half my life, seriously, there are so many beautiful things, some not so much, but I always tend to stay with the good and discard the bad, my God I still remember when I was at my grandmother's house I got the news that they had bought a Nintendo at home, I was very young, the emotion was uncontrollable. That little machine changed my life and surely that of many others.
As the gaming world progressed, the city had some sites with Arcade machines to play, we called them "maquinitas", with some money we could go and spend several hours of fun, the problem was the addiction that it generated and with it the problems.
En mi niñez, contaba con dos hermanos mayores (los sigo teniendo), estaban en la adolescencia y eran muy activos en la movida urbana. En mi casa teníamos un Nintendo Americano, de esos de color gris, esperabamos que mis padres se durmieran para encender el televisor y amanecer jugando, en varias ocasiones nos tomaron infragante y eso llevó a varios castigos, luego nos escondían el computer o los cables, o los controles. para los que no saben, el computer era un adaptador que hacía de puente entre el Nintendo y el televisor. A pesar de todo el castigo y el mal rollo, la casa estaba llena de vida y la familia se sentía unida.
Contar las aventuras y momentos vividos con este aparato me llevaría media vida, en serio, son tantas cosas hermosas, algunas no tanto, pero acostumbro siempre a quedarme con lo bueno y desechar lo malo, Dios mío todavía recuerdo cuando estando en casa de mi abuela me llegó la noticia de que en casa habían comprado un Nintendo, era muy niño, la emoción era incontrolable. Ese pequeño aparato cambió mi vida y de seguro la de muchos.
A medida que el mundo gaming avanzaba, la ciudad tenía algunos sitios con máquinas Arcade para jugar, las llamábamos "maquinitas", con algo de dinero podíamos ir y pasar varias horas de diversión, el problema era el vicio que eso generaba y con ello los problemas.

I really didn't feel so hooked because as I mentioned, I was very young and only went out with my older brothers, they put me up against them in Street Fighter or Mortal Combat duels, I didn't understand combos or anything like that, I just pressed buttons like crazy and with a little luck I won, but I really didn't know what I was doing or how I was doing it, I was just excited if I won but that excitement lasted a little while.
Muchos de nuestros amigos perdieron sus bicicletas por estar concentrados en las maquinitas, nosotros íbamos caminando para no arriesgarnos. Otras veces logramos ver como llegaban los padres de algún compañero al lugar y sin mediar golpeaban al colega, ¿el motivo? pues el amigo estaba desde temprano en el sitio gastando el dinero del mandado y sin avisar, el vicio era extremo en esos tiempos. Yo la verdad no me sentía tan enganchado porque como mencioné, era muy niño y solo salía con mis hermanos mayores, me ponían a enfrentarlos en duelos de Street Fighter o Mortal Combat, no entendía de combos ni nada de eso, solo apretaba botones a lo loco y con algo de suerte les ganaba, pero realmente no sabía lo que hacía ni cómo lo hacía, solo me emocionaba si les ganaba pero esa emoción duraba poco.

My brother had left before because he was hungry and did not know that I was not paying to play, then seeing that he did not return he had to go look for me, and he asked me how I did it, I told him nothing and it just happened, I remember his face, he looked around, played two games and said -let's go-. I was very lucky that the Chinese owner of the place did not notice.
Recuerdo que una vez la máquina donde estaba jugando sufrió una avería porque me permitía seguir jugando sin meter más monedas, entonces estuve horas jugando Snow Bros, en serio fueron varias horas como unas 3 o 4 horas, ya estaba muy cansado de estar de pie en el lugar, tenía mucha sed, ya no estaba jugando por diversión, de hecho ya no lo estaba disfrutando, pero por alguna razón no me despegaba de mi tarea. Mi hermano se había ido antes porque tenía hambre y no sabía que no estaba pagando por jugar, luego al ver que no regresaba me tuvo que ir a buscar, y me preguntó cómo lo hice, le dije que nada y simplemente pasó, recuerdo su cara, él miro alrededor , jugó dos partidas y dijo -vamonos-. These were other times, video games were taking over our lives, nowadays if they are not already, we cannot deny that they are an important part of our existence. Eran otros tiempos, los videojuegos se estaban apoderando de nuestra vida, a día de hoy si ya no lo están, no podemos negar que son parte importante de nuestra existencia. Muy pronto seremos ancianos adictos a los videojuegos, se verá normal y para nada raro. Estoy muy agradecido de ser ese porcentaje de humanos que pudo disfrutar del nacimiento y desarrollo de los videojuegos en consolas, luego PC y actualmente NFTGame, me siento realmente afortunado.

Este post me hizo recordar mis tiempos cuando niño que jugaba en la ps1, era muy vicioso, mi hermano y yo no dejábamos de jugar todo el día recuerdo que nuestro mayor vicioso era el crash, que buenos tiempos, recientemente adquirí una consola para jugar juegos emulados de ps1 y supernintendo y la verdad la emoción está pero no es la misma

Llegue a tener uno de esos Nintendo grises, los juegos que tenían eran fenomenales, llegue a jugar el Snow Bros, era bien difícil, por eso era genial jugarlo con otra persona
Es verdad los juegos de ese Nintendo eran lo máximo en esa época. Existían tiendas de videojuegos y nosotros alquilábamos cartuchos de juegos por días para jugar.

Creo que era uno de los mejores. Me volví experto pero en el nintendo gris porque era muy pequeño cuando las maquinitas y no recuerdo muy bien haberlo usado.

En ese tiempo los juegos tenían mecánicas muy exactas, los tiempos y todo eso, entonces si uno se aprendía los tiempos era fácil pasar los mundos y el juego. Era muy divertido.

Mis recuerdos de niño eran muy parecidos con el supernintendo. Nuestro televisor siempre necesitó un adaptador especial para poder conectarse con el nintendo un adaptador universal que tenía muchas entradas (que parecía una estrellita) no se si a eso se le llamaba el computador.
Pero, lo que más recuerdo que nos pasaba era cuando teníamos el playstation, no teníamos memory card y pasábamos todo el día a veces con el tv y el nintendo prendido pasando un juego. Algunos títulos y definitivamente hazañas que hacíamos era pasar resident evil 3 o teken 2, claro estos maratones recuerdo eran en vacaciones. Creo que esos fueron los momentos más duros en nuestra infancia de adicción jajaj.
