If video game news is very often dominated by American, European and Japanese releases, the Asian video game industry should not be neglected. Due to a lack of localization outside their country, or sufficient media coverage, many ultra-popular franchises in Asia do not experience similar influence in the West - a trend which, it is hoped, will change in the years to follow. A first step in this direction will be taken with the home console release of Xuan-Yuan Sword VII , the latest installment in Taiwanese studio Domo's action-RPG franchise.

Xuan-Yuan Sword VII is therefore the seventh installment of the Taiwanese action-RPG franchise Xuan-Yuan Sword. Very popular in its country of origin, the series never made its way to our countries on a home console before this latest installment - and although this is its seventh entry, Xuan-Yuan Sword VII was designed to be a real gateway for neophytes.

Carried by the history of Chinese mythology, the title is set at the end of the Han Dynasty era, 2000 years ago, and features Taishi Zhao, a swordsman with a big heart who went in the footsteps of a bamboo slice from the Marquis de Liu's cripte - an official document which should have brought prosperity but which ultimately only caused misfortune and famine across the country. To clear his way among the thousand dangers punctuating his path, Taishou Zhou will use techniques inherited from the Elysium Scroll, allowing him to slow down time and manipulate his surrounding environment to his advantage. In the purest tradition of modern action-RPG, Taishi Zhao will be able to block and counter the attacks of the various monsters that await him.
