Hello Gamers ! How are you doing ?
Wanted to share with you a game that bring some of the best memories in my Gaming Childhood.
When i was 10 years old my dad brought home out first video game ever, a Super Nintendo. Im not sure where he found it, but it was a weird japonese version of it and for a long time Pocky & Rocky was the only game i could run on it but it as not a problem at all, this game was the best !
On weekends me and my friends would be up at 5-6am in order to start playing it, it would go for hours and hours.
The best thing about this game, it has a CO-OP mode. Back there online gaming was not an option lol, and playing with your friends will all be the best way to play any game ! We would switch players every game over, we were terrible as shit !!!!
But let's talk about it and see if you would give it a try !
Already in the Character select menu, you will be amazed by the game music. Old games used to have so many great soundtracks, a few ones give me chillz until today when i listen to... Like this game, or omg... Ultima Online. But let's not even talk about it, back to Pocky & Rocky !
Both Characters had different attacks and special moves, well with pretty much the same effects, but different lol.
You were able to dash and hit your friend, making both characters lose control and slide around the screen, in Many times we would end falling from a cliff or into the water and dying, but we would not stop doing it ever. This random guys appears sometimes and drop unique items for you, this would mean a complete dash war in order to grab all items haha, even if it would decrease your actual boost we would grab all we could !!
This is the first boss, we could kill it most of the times, as i sad we were terrible. Until here the game is pretty fun, but things get insanely bad already after the first stage. Now we would stop having fun and try to play serious, the next stage is the forest and things get really bad there. We would get a Gamer Over 90% of the time in this stage.
This stage was insane, the who stage was full of monsters, who would appear from anywhere, there were things moving under the floor that would pop up and hit you every damm time, and if that wasn't enough to finish 10 year old kids, they also had 3 bosses in this map. The last one you had to fight over a Raft, and we would end up losing all our left lives by drowning.. We would pass this stage 1 in a 100 trys. The second stage lol.
We sometimes managed to reach here, we would not last more then a few seconds in this stage, there was just so many monsters in this stage and unlikely the previous ones, monsters would take a lot of hits before dying, and ended up geting you stuck in a corner and draining all your life... It was just impossible. But the most remarkable memory from this game comes right ahead.
For many times we tought this was the last boss from this game, and as a kid i would shit my pants when i was playing this game alone and managed to get this far, this stage was scary as hell for me. Sometimes i would just restart the game when geting to this point lol. Finally for once i managed to beat this guy, and well, it was just a mini boss, the stage would go much further, my friends wouldn't even believe i killed that mini boss...
Well.. we never went ahead from this stage, we always tought it was the last one, we never imagined there was so much more ahead... How could a game be so hard ? This must be one of the Hardest levels of gaming history.
Well, after a long time, i decided to reach the end of this and put an end in this childhood unfinished history. Im playing the whole shit again with my sister... This time using an Emulator and the awesome Save state feature in order to progress, even today im not capable of finishing the game properly, my fingers are hurt from hiting Load State so many times. This Game is Brutal !!!! My sister quit after the third stage. =[
After all this mini bosses, you will have to cross a montain which is barelly impossible, again, there is so much shit trying to kill you, and this purple guy... i kill his family if i can. If you try to kill him you are screwed, just forget him, and keep dodging him for the rest of the stage... its easier...
After crossing this montain you will end up facing the same boss i was scared lol.. again...
in the next stage, an Airship, This is your last time to breath, this stage is really hard, but not impossible like the previous one, you just need some patience, and you will finish with almost no deaths. it's probably the worst cenario in this game, so slow and not really fun. The boss is an weird bird, could beat him in one try (using load state 62 times). Its was a fair battle, not so hard to kill, but definitely hard to dodge a few attacks.
This stage is another caos machine, all i can do is run !! trying to dodge all the monsters. Killing is impossible, and as i try to just skip everyone, there are some stupid gates that block me, and i get ganked by this weird ninjas, they simply smash me in the gate. lucky ive saved tons of life using the Save State and i can afford just keep dying and running. i look like a chicken in this stage. god.
This impossible stage boss is a Dracula like monster. I am not sure if this is broken or what, but he died with a few special moves, probably the easiest boss in the game, developers might have got warned the game was impossible at this point. And finally the last stage !!! here we go.. god have mercie.
The last stage is a big hallway, not really difficult, if you just skip everything and run for your life. There are some big dogs that take forever to kill, and its really hard to predict his attacks, so just move on, dont stop for nothing !! and pray to have a few more lifes to spare ! There is a miniboss to, but really easy to kill. i can't believe this is about to end...
As i Imagined the last boss is here to make sure you won't finish the game. His attacks are impossible to dodge, this blue lazer will fu** you every time. i wish i had a few more lifes to beat him. Almost had to go back a few saves to save some lives lol. But after a bunch of tries i managed to kill him.
Bruh this was intense. How come a game be so hard... I remember i used to rage as a kid playing this game, i was just not mentally prepared for it. Thinking about now how i had this game for so many years, and never managed to finish the 3 stage. Well i wonder how many people could finish this without using an Emulator. i bet the bastard who created this didn't.
Never felt so good finishing a game after so long time.
I will probabbly try to finish ninja gaiden now, another game i had and never managed to beat the first stages lol.

Darksouls and other hard games nowdays seems babied close to this old classics. These things were mad.
If you never played this game, please give it a try, you will be surprised, pissed, mad, but will enjoy it ! playing it in CO-OP mode is awesome, try to grab some1 you hate to play with you !

Nice post, when we were kids most of game seems to be impossible to finish.
I can remember 2 of them from super nintendo, that me and my cousins could spent all the weekend trying to complete some stages. Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Sunset Riders i need to do like you to finish this childhood story.
