Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
theHunter: Call of the Wild has a lot of weapons that you can use to take down your prey. Some are not as beginner-friendly as others like the handguns and bows. They require incredible precision and patience. And are only good at short ranges.
Well, there are scopes and high-calibre bullets/arrows you can use but they are locked behind the handgun/bow score which can be increased only by using these weapons to kill animals. So, as you can expect, they are not easy to handle, especially when you don't have good scopes and better bullets/arrows locked. But even though they are challenging, they are some of the most satisfying kills you can have, especially the bow kills which are almost silent and imparts a low hunting pressure on them.
These were the reasons @bemier and I decided to increase our bow score. She needed it much more than me, and we joined the Yukon Valley Reserve to hone our bow skills.
It was a beautiful morning in the Crimson Valley. It was all red and bright with an almost clear sky. A great day to be hunting in these plains.
We heard some Geese noises coming from a close but spotting them in this thick vegetation proved to be a difficult task. We ended up spooking them. Other groups would just pass over us without a care in the world.
I thought it would be easier to hunt here but apparently, smaller game is very tough to spot and track down. We were quite patient and careful but sometimes would run out of patience. If we were using our long-range rifles, it would be a much easier task.
We saw some Plains Bison and these are much easier targets than the birds. They have good senses too and some of them sense us but the good thing about these is if you spook them or try to shoot one of them, chances are some of them will get aggressive and try to attack you.
Rather than going close to them, they will come to us, at least those who get defensive and aggressive. We had to shoot one of them with our rifle for them to notice and become aggressive.
Bemier went after another group and I came to this one. A big male tried to attack me but I was more than prepared and used my bow to take it down. It only took one arrow on the lung and liver to kill it. A beautiful Gold trophy to start the session.
We spotted a Moose running among one of the groups of Bisons. It was too far even for a rifle shot.
By this time, the weather was starting to change and clouds were covering the sky. The weather on this map changes so quickly and it snows quite often.
Soon it started to snow and right in front of our eyes, the crimson plains were getting whiter. In just a couple of minutes, most of the plains got covered in snow and it started to look even better.
We tracked down that Moose too... turns out, it was going to a feeding location and we were getting impatient now and started using rifles to take it down.
We took out some more Bisons and narrowly missed a pack of Wolves. We saw one but they were not in any mood to stop and come towards us. They might be going out to hunt together. Sometimes, these can attack you and the handgun would be so much more effective against their surprise attack, especially when you are hunting alone.
It wasn't a long session of play but we had a lot of fun. It was certainly a lot more challenging as we wanted to increase our bow score.
The weather made it even more memorable and gave us a lot to talk about during this session. We both love to see the snowfall and you can expect snow in these parts of the game.
I will leave you with a nice shot of these landscapes so you can also appreciate the beauty of this game.

Practically a game session to collect points. Hey wow I'm surprised that with two arrows you were able to take down such a big animal. I really loved the natural change with the snow of the place, it is a really magical game and very complete just recently I saw it very cheap on steam but I have so many games pending that I would be sad to buy it and have it abandoned in my library, so I enjoy your adventures hahaha.
Even one good grade arrow on a vital organ like Lung, liver, heart etc is good enough to kill any animal in the game.
I dare you to hunt a lion and a tiger
Challenge accepted, bro!
On this map it is hard to hunt but also so pretty, especially when it snows. Oh and next time please let's take another map so it will be easier 😂
For sure
this game looks quite realistic, it is very interesting. Like you I would have chosen to upgrade the archery as I would like to walk Legolas style in the forest lol. Good Job 💕
