A few days ago @cocacolaron posted about The End of Season Event that was happening in Fortnite. I knew the season was ending and that a new one would be starting soon but I had no idea they were doing an event like this. Luckily it was happening quite late in the evening this last Saturday so I was able to participate.
There was a whole bunch of people from the Hive Gaming Community coming around for this event. I was in the cool party with @cocacolaron and @perceval. @therealflaws, @gabrielserra and some other boys were sitting around in the loser party. What a bunch of losers. I'm glad I'm not a loser like them.
To begin with we were just sitting around in a room for 20 minutes before the event started. I took this chance to assert my dominance over the rest of the party with the T-pose. Letting them know whose boss.
This event was more than I expected it to be. I was expecting to just watch something unfold outside the windows of this room but instead we started flying away in this huge mech-suit. We were manning the guns and haw to blow up all the asteroids coming at us before landing on the world where we started shooting tanks instead.
At some points we went into quick time events where we had to mash the E button to do something. Like blast a laser or drink a truckload of juice to regain health. At some points it looked like we would lose but it's all scripted so nothing of that really mattered.
At some point we reached our goal and smashed the antenna that was causing all this chaos only for the ground to crumble beneath us. We fell down into a cave where we got us some guns and started shooting NPCs. We did this as we were hunting the leader of this escapade called Sloane. I have no idea who she is seeing as I have no idea what's going on with this story.
We blasted our way through all the enemies and emerged victorious in the end. We met some friendly NPCs along the way that I bet has something do to with the story at large but I have no idea about any of them.
It all ended with a blast and a really cool loading screen that marked the end of the event and the season. This loading screen will be all the game will be seeing until the new season launches. By the time this post is out it will probably already have launched. I don't know much about the new season but I know that the Battle Pass will include a Darth Vader skin. I'm getting that for sure.
This was a really cool event and I'm glad I took the time to join in on it. I would have been pretty sad if I missed out on this one. Now we wait!

Sheeeeesh a mega epic event! This season seems very cool with all the things they've been adding, the mapping is very good, the collabs, and being able to be a hog rider from CR lmao. Also, I like the battlepass a lot, more than the previous one for sure, I plan to play it a lot to farm it.
This battle pass was kinda boring in my opinion but Darth Vader is cool. I'm gonna try and max it out anyways.
That day was amazing, I had never participated in a fornite event, I never expected to control a giant robot, for a moment we felt like a power rangers team.

Yeah I can see the resemblance. This was a limited edition skin I managed to snag due to my old job. Kinda lucky :P

Unfortunately I couldn't be at the event, it looks amazing, I'm already playing in the new season, I really like it. I was at a family reunion just that day.
I was thinking of should I play Fortnite. Now I decide it. I definitely should!

You know, I'm a huge fan of Fortnite and all that it's managed to accomplish, but I dove head first into Save the World a couple years back and its changed how I view the Battle Royale side of things. Namely, so much cool stuff goes into these events that it actually makes me less interested, somehow, when I know that StW (the game mode I actually enjoy more) is getting ignored.
Stormy rain cloud aside, I like the narrative shift that's occurred over the last several plot lines. It's cool to see the larger world building going on that somehow integrates what essentially amounts to external ads/sponsors cramming cool stuff into the game without feeling ham-fisted.

Excellent work guys! I've always seen Fornite players only playing in the Battle Royal. I can see now that the game is not just about that, you guys had an epic game in this event.
