Hello Hive Gamers. I'm new to this community but would love to be a more active participant. I have been a Gamer for a long time and have enjoyed winning prizes while playing them as a casual hobby. I was introduced to this concept when I started playing MTG and found out tournaments exist. I was able to do well enough win some prizes in my first tournament. Years later I was able to team up with my Local Game Store(LGS) to run a 3k tournament so I have some experience from both a participant and a TO.
It wasn't long before I learned to pursue this quest for assets and rewards online and I have tried making similar progress on many different digital mediums with mixed results. Recently I have been learning more and more about blockchain games and NFT and it seems like a natural progression I should pursue.
I became aware of Splinterlands some time ago and wanted to check it out but I had some concerns about there not being enough agency in the game but after reading all the new updates that were announced today I became very excited about the future of that game. Does anyone know how easy it is to get started with that game today? Does it take a lot of vested interest to be able to win packs?
I have some other questions about the community and my possible role here. Are there any other blockchain games or NFT that any of you are very excited for currently or releasing soon? Is there any particular type of content the community needs that I should focus on or should I just make different kinds of gaming content and adjust based on what trends well? Thank you for reading my post and for any tips and feedback you can provide.
I can't really answer your question as I don't play Splinterlands, but just wanted to say hello and welcome to Hive Gaming. 🙂
In my personal opinion, when it comes to creating content here just focus on what you feel is best. You'll get mixed results either way. Though I haven't done it in a while, I like to focus on making up my own fictional stories out of the RPG games I play -- sometimes they get a good response and other times there is no response at all.
Don't let it discourage you -- that's my main advice, haha. 🙂
I appreciate the honest feedback. I like RPGs too. They are one of my favourite genres. When you create stories from your games are those games open ended narrative games like tabletop RPGs?
I've never been much of a tabletop person 😅 not from a lack of wanting to, but just not having the people around to do so.
Most of my fictional pieces come from computer RPGs. For example: create a new character modded to only have one life in Skyrim, then weave a random story out of what they experience before they die. 😁
Oh that's cool. I've seen some YouTubers do some stuff somewhat like that. Sounds like fun. It's so easy to min-max RPGs and win. I like adding a few layers of flavour and challenge when modding and RPing a character like that.
